I love the size but the non stick wears out too soon. This is not my first Calphalon so I am used to how it reacts. The even heat distribution is great and it is generally a good cooking tool, but too much money for something that wears out so soon.

I bought this pan to replace the same size Calphalon pan that I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond a few years ago. Even though I hand washed it, the surface of the old pan had gradually degraded and started to develop scratches and flake off. I decided to try another Calphalon pan anyway and I'm glad I did.
The surface on this pan is shiny vs. the matte finish on the old pan's surface. It seems harder and smoother too. This pan, even though it's the same diameter, is a bit deeper and has a glass lid that goes with it, and there was no lid with the old pan, both of which are big improvements.
I might revisit this review after I've used it for several months to report on the durability of the surface--the old pan started to lose its nonstickiness after several months and started to develop scratches in the surface even though I used plastic utensils and hand washed it.
The instructions for this pan say that it's dishwasher safe but I will still hand wash it, so won't be able to say whether the harsh detergents and high temperatures in the dishwasher would damage the nonstick surface.
So far I LOVE this pan. It really does seem to be an improvement over my old one.

I have to agree with the others who express disappointment in the shelf life of this pan, though I didn't have a warping problem like some others. I got it for my bridal shower almost 3 years ago and it's time for a new one. But, all of the Calphalon non stick pans last about that long. I've already replaced my 8" and 10" omelette pans in the same time frame. FYI - all 3 pans are used daily, with non metal utensils and hand washed with a soft sponge ONLY. As much as I love this work horse of a pan, I don't see myself paying for a replacement. And unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are many to choose from in this category. This is 2015…can't someone figure out longer lasting nonstick technology?!

Our last set of classic Calphalon lasted over 20 years. This non-stick skillet is a dream. It has the perfect weight for even heating and the surface that can fry a perfect egg. The handles do not get hot unless used under the broiler.

I wish I could give more stars to credit Calphalon's customer service and return policy, but if the quality of their products lived up to their reputation, there would then be no need for their customer service.
This pan was warped right out of the box, so I immediately exchanged it for another one at the local Bed, Bath & Beyond. So I get the pan home, un-box it, and guess what... warped! When I returned it this time to the BB&B, I un-boxed each of the three pans they had left, at the store. I was able to find one good one out of the three, that was not warped.
It wasn't long before this pan began warping, but I decided to just live with it, thinking that it must be an inherent problem, possibly due to the the larger surface area of the 13" pans. Next came the dulling of the non-stick surface, that eventually led to food sticking to the pan. I wasn't about to live with this, so I boxed it up, and shipped it to Calphalon. Without any hassle, they shipped out a new pan.
Being extra careful with the new pan helped it last longer than the first one, but within six months, this pan warped and began sticking just as bad. This time I sent the pan where it belongs...to the trash can.
Now that I am enjoying my new, institutional quality, Tramontina pan (which cost just a third of the price of the Calphalon) I know I will never again pay top dollar for the poor quality "non-stick" pans made by Calphalon.

DO NOT BUY FOR ELECTRIC RANGES. The bottom warps easily so it doesn't sit flat on my glass top range which causes uneven heating. It won't sit flat on a heating coil either. The warping isn't huge so if you cook on a gas range you probably won't notice. It warps while hot (while you're cooking) and goes back to flat when it's cold.

I've bought many calphalon products with no complaints but this one is a dud. I bought one from Bed Bath and it warped after the first use. I was going to take it back but Calphalon's website asks them to be mailed in to them. So I paid $35 to ship the stupid thing. Then waited three months (yes, that long) for a replacement. The second skillet also warped on the first use. VERY UPSETTING. There's no way I'm paying another $35 to mail it back in. Wish I had just taken it back to Bed Bath in the first place.

Pro: Nice and even heat distribution.

Cons:
1. Too heavy when full to not have a helper handle.
2. Nonstick surface wears out tstartedwearing started wearing off after a year despite baby in the pan. Always handwashed after its called down to room temperature and never nested with other pans.
3. Too expensive for the longevity of the pan.

Alternative: get Zwilling Sensation or Demeyere Proline instead. With enough heat and patience those are pretty much nonstick even without addition of oil. Watch the YouTube video from Demeyere to learn more about how to correctly cook on their pans.
