My older teenaged son is medically fragile with pervasive developmental delays; while he is quite small for his age, his bladder is not. He's at the weight where he has about 10 more pounds and he will outgrow these (he's 102 pounds at 5'3" height). I've tried some of the XS adult 'diapers' that claim to hold up to 30 ounces of liquid, not because he wets that much at once (who does?!?) or because I allow him to stew in his own filth all day, but - quite bluntly - because parts of him that inside the 'diapers' has a tendency to come out the top or the leg hole of these 'diapers' that are made for pre-pubescent boys. The adult XS are just huge on him and cause more leakage issues with the large leg openings and massive stretch allowance in the waist of the adult briefs than we accidentally have with these sometimes. We did find in our particular situation that putting boys boxer briefs on top of the GoodNites has all but eliminated shifting and 'escape' of his privates. I apologize if this review is embarrassing for anyone to read, but I know that we are not the only parents/caregivers in this situation and I wanted to leave a review that might help someone else who, like us, doesn't have a "plain old" kid :)

Listen, I'm not your traditional user of GoodNites - I'm a 19 yr old college student who had a brief incapacitation of my own bladder over this past year and bought a pack of these. I'm a 30 inch waist, ~150 pounds, and these are a heck of a lot cheaper than Depends and they do the job just fine and yeah, you can tell you're wearing a diaper, but they're pretty comfortable. Seriously, don't worry about it. you do what you need to do. It's fine. I did it living in a dorm for three weeks this semester and nobody found out about my medical issues I was having - very blessed. 5 stars.

My 27-month-old is fully potty trained during the day, but has always been a super heavy wetter at night. Since being day trained, this has improved slightly (which gives me hope) but he still can't use just any old diaper at night without a huge mess in the morning. This has been a struggle since he was about four months old, and prior to these I tried every night diaper combo under the sun. The most success I had was with a overnight diaper/disposable doubler combo, but that was starting to get annoying. Since he doesn't have to endure diaper changes during the day, he was not thrilled by having to put on a diaper for nighttime. I tired nighttime Pull-Ups, which resulted in leaks, Pampers Easy-Ups, which resulted in leaks, and then I grabbed a small pack of these. Even though my son is only 33 lbs. and these start at 38 lbs., I decided to give them a whirl. I thought maybe they might run small like the Pull-Ups do. We always have to size up in those. So I put one of these on him, and I thought I was going to have leaks because it is pretty big. But no. The next morning dry bed. We used them again, and dry bed. Dry bed all week. They are easier to get on and off, and they never seem saturated like the diapers do. I guess it makes sense, since they are designed to hold enough urine for a 65 lb. child! I hope they don't ever change them, because I love having one simple step (no doublers, no trying to get him to hold still while I fasten on a diaper) and they work great.

Update 11-20-14:
A month into using these we have had a couple leaks, maybe 4. I don't think there is supposed to be a difference, but the first pack we bought was the Spiderman design, and those seem to leak more than the box I got here on Amazon, which have the monster truck/skateboard design.

This review is a comparison between the larger sizes of Goodnites and UnderJams. I'll start with a short version of it; If your kid is able to fit into UnderJams go with those.

With the long version of this review I'll try to go fairly in-depth. Both of these products are of the pull-up style and are designed especially for bedwetting (which you probably already knew). Both also are fairly discreet to an observer, but to the child they will know they are wearing a diaper no matter how underwear like they claim to be. With both you want to make sure the leak guards are standing before putting them on your child. Both of these products kept the bed dry for my child, but your experience may differ.

Now we can get into the differences. To start it off UnderJams(.50 each) are cheaper than Goodnites(.75 each). UnderJams seem to have gender specific absorbent material, while Goodnites seem like the only difference between boys and girls is design. To me it also seems like the UnderJams are more absorbent than the Goodnites. UnderJams also have the advantage of being more comfortable largely due to the softer sides. One advantage the Goodnites have is that their large size is, well larger. UnderJams have a max recommendation of 85 lb while Goodnites have a 125 lb limit. My recommendation would be to use UnderJams until they no longer fit and then transition into Goodnites. If Goodnites are outgrown and they're still wetting the bed then the next step would be some adult product. Hope this helps!
