Color: Billings Chocolate

This yarn is almost impossibly soft. Ridiculously, wonderfully, amazingly soft. I wish I could convey adequately how insanely soft this stuff is, but unless you feel it for yourself, words won't do it justice. I got 3 skeins of it (in Billings Chocolate) to make a scarf and I'd like to get more in a variety of other colors.
I'm knitting on size 14 needles, and this stuff knits up really quickly. Also, its bulkiness seems to be forgiving when it comes to sloppy stitching (I knit on the train and the motion can sometimes mess with my ability to keep consistent tension). The resulting knit is fantastically soft (have I mentioned how soft this yarn is?), thick and cozy, and remarkably stretchy..
So, if this yarn is so fantastic, why not 5 stars? Well, I notice that the strand seems to come apart pretty easily. I've stuck the needle into the strand more than once, and met no resistance. Also, I notice that as I'm working through my first skein, about a quarter of the way through, the strand is somewhat unraveled already. I'm hoping that it'll stay together once it's knit into the scarf, but it's kind of discouraging to encounter this so early on.
All in all, this yarn is nice - works up fast, makes a really nice feeling product, and it's soft (seriously). As long as it holds up, I think I'll be buying more of this yarn!

I've amended my review from 4 stars to 5. After going through 3 skeins of this yarn, I've absolutely fallen in love with it. Yes, it does kind of come apart a little bit while knitting, but the finished product seems like it's going to be durable. Also, it just feels so nice - anything you make with this yarn is going to be soft, thick, and cozy. It really is a fantastic yarn.

Color: Lake Tahoe Blue

I am in love with the Hometown USA yarn line, and Lake Tahoe Blue is my favourite.
The yarn is so extremely soft and and fluffy and light so the final results are so satisfying! I've gone through three skeins of Lake Tahoe Blue and have come across one slightly thin, weak spot. Otherwise, it's pretty even and consistent.
The colours are gorgeous - it's not just solid blue. Lots of light, subtle green, yellow, and purple make it a "peacock" theme. Just gorgeous and it works up so quickly into the quickest shawl possible.
Update: I made a baby blanket for my sister using this yarn - my FIRST large finished project ever. I went through, I think, 5 skeins. In all 5 of the ones I used for the blanket, there were two little mangled areas that I had to cut out from the skein. I expect that from fluffy yarn like this, though.
All 5 were also of the same dye lot but the colour variations vary from skein to skein and even within the same skein. I LIKE this effect, though. You might be able to see in one of my pictures that some rows have more yellows and green while some rows have more purples and blue shades. It just adds more interest.
(New York White, also of the Hometown USA line, is the other colour in my blanket).

I have fallen in love with the Hometown yarn line. The feel of this yarn is similar to those super soft stuffed animals that you want to keep squeezing. I ordered the Lime color, and it is a truly vibrant chartreuse. This is a thick strand yarn that works up fast. I made a slouchy hat with one skein and a "N" hook in 2 hours I n Lime and also in the Denver purple. They are awesome. I also made a different slouchy hat in Denver purple with the same beautiful results.
