This is one of the best house flipping shows. Tarik and Christine have interesting chemistry as husband and wife and also as business partners. They reveal the economics of each flip. There's an investor or a family member providing the capital (and taking half the gain on selling the the flipped house). Unlike other shows where the flips create unrealistic value because the sale of the house is anticipated but not realized, here, the flipped house is sold. During the flipping process, it is clear that they are concerned that every flip is more expensive than originally anticipated. Houses are money pits. We should all rent. Their solution is to sell at the high end of the comps. Apparently, this works. Why? I have no idea and the show has you hoping that Tarik and Christine will be successful as they invariably are.

Flip or Flop is one of my two favorite HGTV shows - right up there with Nicole Curtis' Rehab Addict. Flip or Flop follows an engaging and talented young couple working their hearts out to make it in real estate by rehabbing distressed homes. Interesting story lines, engaging personalities, support for one another - and just enough uncertainty to add a dash of suspense. Will they sell the house after they have rehabbed it for a price that allows them to get their money back? Or will they risk it all and lose one too many times?

It's not Great Expectations, but if you are interested in a storyline that features people you'd like to have as friends, seeing how Tarek and Christina turn real estate horrors into beautiful family homes is a TV program I think you might enjoy. I recommend Flip or Flop wholeheartedly.

I'm not sure how much Flip or Flop is staged and I really hope very little is but as most of us know by now reality shows these days can be very deceving. I have been in love with Real Estate Flipping shows since Property Ladder. Flip or Flop is my new favorite and to my delight the couple they feature are very likeable people. This is a big contrast compared to Armando Montelongo from Flip this House. He made that show unwatchable.

This likeable couple with their adorable daughter makes you want them to succeed. The only problem is that they are so good looking they don't seem real. The wife is distractingly beautiful but also comes off as extremely smart. Oh and their 2 year old is probably the most adorable baby I have seen on television since the Olsen twins.

All in all a great show.

This show could have easily been called Ken and Barbie get married and become real estate flippers.

The show is informative but I don't like the character's personalities. They're all business. It just seems like they're never having fun. Especially the guy. He doesn't smile once throughout the show. His default state is always scared looks and worrying about some kind of unforeseen cost that his developer tells him about. The problem is flipping is always about unseen costs. So it just gets old, the show is basically him bitching, worrying and freaking out to make a profit and the cycle repeats. I'd like to see someone that knows what they're doing and doesn't freak out about money so much. I'm sure they're both millionaires yet they stress out over every little penny it just gets tiring. Also, they seem to have no life apart from their flipping. The show doesn't show their personal side at all, it's like two robots flipping houses.

I really enjoy this show. Tarek and his wife, Christina, buy homes that they rarely get to see the inside of and then flip them. It's fun to watch the process.

One of my favorite parts of the show is when Tarek tries to spend as little as possible on materials. It doesn't look fake; it's just he wants to make a bigger profit in the end. For example, he may want less expensive flooring or not want to move a wall or two. Christina tells him no and explains why. We can tell Tarek isn't happy but nearly every time he listens to his wife and she really is right about what she wants. She doesn't raise her voice or try to make him look badly - she just tells him why they're going to do it her way and then he agrees. I love it!

One thing I don't understand is that Tarek/Christina don't seem to push negotiations. They're realtors so they know how to do it but they don't. If a home is priced at $450k, he might offer $435k and if the owner says he'll come down to $448k, Tarek accepts. No re-negotiations. When this first happened, I thought perhaps the sellers had put their foot/feet down - but it seems it's all of the time when there's a seller. (Some homes are sold in an auction so there's no give and take). I wish Tarek was able to do a one sentence voice-over that they tried to get the seller to budge but it didn't happen.

Also, at the end of the show, Tarek explains how much was paid into the flip and then their profit - however, sometimes he'll say, "And if the sale goes through, we'll make a profit of $____." I wish the show would allow him to do updates at the end of other shows on the status of those homes on prior episodes so the audience would know if the sales went through, for what amount and the profit amount if there was one.
