I use these for my breastfeeding son, while I am away at work. The newborn flow is size 1 (listed on the nipple) which can be confusing when you are shopping. My son is almost one and has continued to use these since he was 3 months old.

The product is fine, but they are level 1 (0-3 months) instead of level 0 (newborn). I already have several 1's, and the stores seem to always be out of 0's so I came here to get them. My son can't use 1's without gagging yet so I'm still stuck with only 2 usable nipples. If you're looking for 0, keep looking. This is not it.

These are great for babies. Even though they say newborn my 4 month old is still using them on occasion due to the fact he likes to eat too fast. So these are usable long after what the box tells you which I think is 2 months. Like any constant use try to change out your natural nipples every 3 months to avoid breakdown and staining from formula.

These nipples don't leak, and clean up easily. They still work and look well even after months of use and washing. However, what I discovered after I had my baby is that you don't actually need them. The newborn and slow flow ones are more than enough. Even a 9 month old does just fine with slow flow nipples. This is especially true if the 9 month old is still partially breastfed, because it means that when they get a bottle it isn't much faster than nursing and they don't get bored with nursing. Plus around 10 months most children switch to sippy cups anyway and you start phasing out bottles. If I had to do it again I wouldn't register for these.

In my new-mother-stupor I didn't read carefully enough. These are NOT the slowest flow nipple Philips Avent makes. These are marked with a "1." If you want the slowest flow, you need to get "0."

I registered for all the nipple "speeds" so I wouldn't have to buy any later and I wish I wouldn't have. Bottles are so much quicker than nursing, there is no need for these faster ones. My son used the slowest flow until he was 6 months, and now at 9 months uses the "3 month" size. Maybe for bottle fed babies they need to increase speed more, but for my breastfeed boy, even the slow speeds were way too fast. He would come up choking, or would finish the bottle too fast, cry for more milk, and then spit up because it was way too much, but he didn't realize he was full. I'm sure everyone's experiences are different, but I wish someone would have told me this before I bought all of them.
