Bought this to store new knives. Great because the 6 segments are held together with threaded bolts/nuts so the width can be changed to fit different drawer widths. In my case, I removed one section to fit into my drawer. NOTE: You'll have to cut the threaded rods down after removing a section.

Have had the knife block for about two weeks. Great drawer block. If I can figure out how to upload a picture I will. I have 8 Zwilling JA Henckels Twin Four Star II steak knives in the slots, 1 paring knife, and two 20 year old larger MAC knives. The drawer block only has 6 smaller knife slots on the top; not a problem I just put several of the steak knives in the lower slots. My drawer depth from the "inside bottom of the drawer to the top of the drawer opening is 3 7/16th inches and the knives all fit fine and the drawer closes with no problem. I consider this a low profile knife storage block. I put a rolled up towel at the back of the drawer to keep the storage block from shifting to the rear. Recommend this storage block.

I purchased two of these that fit nicely in a shallow kitchen cabinet drawer. I expect to "color coordinate" the steak knives with a dot of nail polish in order to find them without pulling out multiple-sized knives with the same handle design as I look for utility knives when cooking.

This product was 90% when I got it. The construction is good and the size is perfect. The only issue was the block was loose. There are two long bolts that keeps everything together. A quick tightening with a wrench and it's now 100%. I'm very happy the purchase and would consider it again!

I have Cutco knives and they do not align well at all. The blade size and shape determines the knife position for some knives while the handles determine the knife positions for others. The knife slots are so loose that the short knives are often in the way when inserting longer knives which damages the handles of the smaller knives. The wooden crossbars that tie the assembly together cause tall knives (Chef) to stand too tall. Ultimately, the knives are as sloppy as just putting the knives freely in a drawer and they have very little protection.

Another reviewer commented that the blade can drag in the drawer bottom. This is true and difficult to avoid without being preoccupied with it.

Just a clumsy implementation of a good idea.

I am very pleased with my Cook N Home Bamboo Knife Storage In-Drawer Block. It is sturdy and efficiently stores and holds my knives in place. It amazed me that it fit in a drawer I suspected might be too shallow. But it turned out that even my biggest knife fit and the drawer closed without a problem. I even had enough room to store my kitchen scissors and sharpener next to the Block. Good Product for the price.

I bought two of these; they fit side-by-side in a draewr with room ont he side for sharpeners. I really like them, easy to get to all the knives, including steak knives. Wood strips on bottom protect drawer bottom and knife blades. Not much else to say, very functional.

I think this is a standard design to have the slats but no bottom, however, since these are to hold knives it would be better to have a bottom so that the knives to not mark the bottom of the drawer in any way. Also, the tips of the knives can hit the back of the drawer also causing marks in the drawer. Other than that, it is great to have a knife block made of a sustainable material, bamboo, that also provides water resistance and therefore warping protection.
