I added up what everything in this 'Nostalgia' kit. If purchased separately here on amazon, it would cost $74.21 (prices as of 12/30/13.)

I wanted this to keep a journal of the first year in our new home. I am just going to list the products and rate them accordingly.

The Smash Folio: 5 stars. Great product with 40 pages (making it 80 pages using both sides). It is sturdy and the pages don't have any weird or creepy prints.

Smash Portable Scissors: 0 stars. Great in theory, but worthless in execution. No finger holes in the handles. These went into the trash bin.

Soda Can Tape Dispenser: 0 stars. It is a cardboard holder and is awkward to use. Better products out there.

Tree note pad: 3 stars. Colorful and makes an interesting border when layered under and on top of notes and photos creating a 3-D effect. Only a tiny bit of the bottom has `sticky' on it, so has to be glued on the back and they are made of very thin paper. I don't know how these will stand up over time if not first protected by placing them in packing tape or placed on double stick sheet then cut around the tree. Same thing can be achieved with card stock, tree rubber stamps, ink pad, scissors and glue stick. These are nice. They just need a little bit of prep so they won't curl or tear inside the book.

3 Piece Gusseted Pockets: 2 stars. Two of these are envelopes. Could be sturdier considering two have flaps and are meant to reopen and close. Compartments are very small and not realistic to fetch a stored item once inserted unless you don't plan to glue the pocket onto a page. Coin envelopes work better for small items and are inexpensive.Read more ›

This was my first Smashbook folio kit and I am so glad I got the kit. I love all the little accessories, especially the cool and warm stamper. It's nice to have the things all together. The cutesy folder is just what I was looking for. I suggest you look at a youtube video to see what the pages are like inside. After this, I try to get the folio kits when possible so I have the washi tape and things together.

This awesome kit had everything listed. It was a great way to start scrap booking. Make sure you check to see what size your scrap book would come as since the one I got (pockets) were bigger than the couture book I had from before. Overall, it was a great starter kit!

I purchased this item in Couture because I liked all the items that came with it. I wish I could have seen what the interior pages looked like because I would have opted for a different folio as I did not plan my smash book purchase around fashion. I can salvage the folio though since you glue stuff all over the pages anyway. The pack of punch outs that come with the set are just okay. There were just a few that I would use and all the other ones will just go into the craft junk drawer for future possibilities. I am still happy with the purchase as it does come with quite a bit of stuff at a lower price than separate purchases.

I wish I could give this 5 stars. Everything was included except for the green Family Smash Notepad. Not sure if they forgot to pack it or they were out of stock. Either way, I was not notified and they failed to replace it with anything of equal or lesser value. When I'm paying 100% of the price, I expect to receive 100% of the product. The rest of the pack is fantastic and is great value. It's the perfect beginners pack with everything you need to kick start your Smashbook experience.
