Okay ... to start off it was NOT DETECTING my bluetooth devices at first when I clicked "Add a Device"
After some google search I found that the reason could be that the bluetooth service is stopped/disabled in my Windows services.
Turns out that was the reason. Enabled it and started. Working perfectly fine now.

Here are the steps:

Go to Windows Services (Start -> Run -> services.msc -> OK)
There were two services there "Bluetooth Service" and "Bluetooth Support Service"
Bluetooth Support Service was disabled. I enabled it and started it.
Voila ... my bluetooth devices started to get detected.

Plugged in and was recognized by Ubuntu 13.10, 3.11.0-15 kernel. Others have stated this does not work with Linux. I found that the id had been added to the kernel in October 2013. Before the id was added Linux would not have recognized it.

I did have issues actually getting my bluetooth device to work but I blame the bluetooth support in Linux. Linux saw the ASUS adapter and found my bluetooth headphones. I was able to config the headphones as an audio device but would not get any sound. I researched and played with the settings in /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf finally getting sound. Listening to Pandora via Ubuntu as I type.

I needed a Bluetooth adapter for my Playstation 3 so I could use my Playstation 4 controller wirelessly with the CronusMAX/ControllerMAX adapter.

I'm pleased to say the Asus USB-BT400 works perfectly, with zero detectable latency (it passes the Hot Shots Golf/Dance Dance Revolution test).

So, if you need a BT adapter for this sort of gaming awesomeness, the Asus is full of win.

Also to note, if you don't like LEDs, the Asus has a tiny blue one that you'll never notice because it's covered by an FCC sticker. Yay!

I enjoyed this item immensely. ...while it was all in one piece. I'd had it plugged into the front USB port of my PC for a couple months. I decided to move it to one of the back ports and tried to pull it out. The black plastic nub pulled right off. I was able to get the rest of the adapter out with my fingers easy enough, but the pieces inside, a tiny circuit board and black plastic used to hold it in place, slid right out. The black nub seems to hold the entire adapter together on the inside using a tiny plastic-pointy-thing™, no glue or anything else. I tried to piece it back together but could not make it work again. If you buy this, take great care if you ever need to move it.

Using this on Win 7 pro 64-bit to pair my beats wireless headset for use with skype and everything else on a custom pc built in late 2009. Tired of wired headsets and wanted to give this a try before looking for an official, expensive wireless usb headset. Works very well, automatically searches and pairs with my beats when win 7 boots and have gone approximately 50 ft from my bedroom where the pc is located without diminishing call quality. Overall, very satisfied with the product and hope it continues to work without problems for months or even years to come. I've supported Asus for over 10 years now and will continue. Awesome company and products.

Easy peasy installation. I had a terrible time with a competitor's product (Medialink/Broadcom) including company replaced hardware; I finally decided to try a different device and chose the ASUS based on reviews here. Windows 7 seems to like this a whole lot better, and connecting with my Bose headphones was a snap. So far so good. If I can do this, anyone can.

I previously had a USB-BT100 that did not integrate well with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. It would drop out frequently, and did not support streaming audio. This unit installed without any issues, and has been very stable, and very fast. Very happy with this device.

I've been running Windows 10 since the day of release with no issues. Granted the packaging only for this item claims compatibility with up to Windows 8.1. I plugged this adapter in, Windows 10 identified it immediately without installing the drivers, and the Bluetooth console was installed on the tray. I was able to pair my phone without a hitch, but after it paired the Windows Bluetooth management screen stuck on "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices". Any attempts to transfer a file from my phone failed.

I went into the Device Manager and selected Update Device Driver/Automatically from Internet. An updated driver was downloaded and installed. Same result.

Lastly I tried downloading the Bluetooth device utility from Asus's website. The driver software install is over 170MB! It installed every language and a lot of unnecessary files. It took several minutes to install and while it did it offered a slideshow of everything it promises to do (use your phone as a webcam for your computer, use your phone as a proximity lock for your computer, etc.) After installation there is no icon to run the Asus drivers and everything was the same. I tried unplugging and replugging the device and immediately got a blue screen.

Uninstalling, unplugging and returning.
