PS... the rack screws ARE METRIC (included). Fit your gear fine, but are NOT SAE mounting screws.

Solid and Secure

Just as a bit of background - I own a lot of professional gear and have quite a few years experience with racks and rack mounted gear.

I own both the 6U and 4U versions of this exact rack, and both of them are top quality and meticulously built. Every part of these racks is precisely assembled and even the covers fit well with no fuss, along with the latches being secure. The rubber feet on the bottom are high quality and the interior of the rack is painted a nice satin black. The rails (front and rear) are solidly mounted with a nice 1" recess from the front and back of the rack. These racks are built solid and should last a very long time, either with good care or with the knocks and abuse that rack mounted gear can often be subjected to.

As for the reviewer that had problems getting screws to fit into the rack, I am at a loss for how something so simple could be that hard to do. Each rack comes with a bag of 10-32 screws with nylon washers to make mounting gear very secure and also in such a way as to not scratch any of your gear. I have mounted and moved and re-racked numerous pieces of gear in both of my racks and never once had even a hint of difficulty.

I purchased this to replace an older, bulkier case that I had my rack gear in. This was meant to be an inexpensive temporary case, however I was blown away by how sturdy and strong it is. I may keep it as my new permanent case.

This is just as good or better as the RoadRunner stuff that Guitar Center sells for a fraction of the cost. Fantastic.

This thing is all it's cracked up to be and then some. Just as others have said, priced like cheap garbage but unbelievably well built. Rack holes in front and back. I had to turn one screw really hard Ibecause the hole want completely threaded properly but just one. And one screw was missing or I lost it but wet all have those. I am totally buying my next case from here.

Very Nice Case with One Small Problem

A nicely built rack case. Seems pretty solid. Maybe not enough for full-on road abuse, but enough for me to lug around to rehearsals and local gigs without any problem. It has ample space inside for all my gear, plus cables that I like to leave plugged in for quick connecting at a gig or rehearsal. The rack is recessed more than enough to accommodate any knobs or buttons that might stick out of the front of the gear.

My only small complaint is that the case is so deep that the rubber feet don't sit squarely on my amp (which is a 100W Mesa Boogie Mark IV head). This was enough for me to knock off 1 star on the rating. I remedied the problem by purchasing an additional set of rubber feet (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H6A0KI) and installing two of them about two thirds of the way back. Now the case sits squarely and sturdily on top of my amp. The back hangs over the amp a bit, but I'm not too concerned since most of the weight is in the front where the gear is mounted. I'm including a photo of my case with the extra feet.

All in all, a good solid rack case for a great price. Depending on how you're using it, the depth might not be an issue for you. If it is, it's not too big a deal to fix it, but it would have rated five stars if I didn't have to.

The rack holds my preamps and stereo power amp very well with no rattles (or any build-quality issues ;) I wouldn't carelessly handle it or drop it down stairs, but it does it's job inexpensively and well. The shipping was exceptionally quick and the cost is very reasonable.
