I'm a distance runner and was having some serious pain in the abs and groin after I ran. Come to find out its a small (5mm) inguinal tear. My dilemma was this...I had a half marathon in 1 month, but the orthopedist that was recommended to me is booked up for 6-7weeks. I purchased this product to see if it would allow me to train while waiting to see the doctor.

My waist: 33"
My hips: 39"

The medium size fits absolutely PERFECT!

Pros: adds support perfectly over the inguinal area and can be adjusted up/down/side-to-side within 1/2" or so. I was able to run/stretch with it and it reduced the pain I felt post-run. Nice material, strong velcro, and pretty comfortable.

Cons: the only draw back I had (thus the 4 stars) was the croctch strap pushed on my pubic bone and it felt bruised for a few days. To avoid this, I don't wear it at night, and use it in 3-4hr shifts during the day.

I ran that half marathon...got a personal best!

I'm a size 30 waste, and its basically so big the velcro wouldn't line up. And it has 4 inch patches of velcro.
So I use about one inch of velcro, and its snug enough to work, but I would prefer if it was tighter.

Other than that its really well made. Decently comfortable. And it works, which is really the most important.

The only downside to wearing it outside your underwear is of course removing it to do your business.

For anyone who may be interested I intend to heal by inguinal scrotal hernia thru fasting/liquid dieting and the use of this belt. Combined with yoga, stretching, and inversion.

I fasted for 5 days and my scrotal hernia went away. I did not even need to wear the belt.
But once I ate a large meal and had bowel pressure throughout the day and while on the toilet, it remerged.

If you want to believe surgery is your only option, so be it, maybe it is. But its certainly not mine.

Update:
My hernia is healed, without surgery, it has been for months. I no longer require the truss for even intense physical activity. By the help of this truss, and commitment to proper diet, stretching, and exercise. If you have any questions, I would love to help. Please message me.

This truss is extremely well made. It's adjustable through the waist and additionally through the groin/around the leg. This is the third different brand of truss I have bought through Amazon, and third time was the charm. It lays well under the clothes, fits well and is tremendously sturdy.

I discovered (painfully) that I had developed a hernia just before I was supposed to leave on a combination land tour & cruise to Alaska. Being 72 years young, and knowing that this trip would involve having to move luggage around at least some of the time as well as negotiating staircases and riding in wagons, a helicopter, busses, a train, and a ship, not to mention a *LOT* of walking, I decided on a little "insurance" to keep things "tucked in", LOL! I received this belt two days before we left, and it did the job splendidly for the entire 16 days. I had no problems with chafing from the leg strap, the belt fit easily over my briefs and under my T-shirt, and there was no noticeable bulge (and I had to pass through TSA and the Canadian equivalent). This product is definitely a winner!

This is absolutely by far the best hernia belt I have tried here on amazon, and I have tried many of the others and put up with them with little to not much satisfaction. The Meditex is the most comfortable and usable belt I've purchased. In fact I have purchased extra pairs. I really can't feel I'm wearing one, even with shorts, the others ride up the back and always come out of your pants. I landscape for my living and I can work and lift just like I did before. I had hernia surgery once and it failed and I am not looking forward to going thru surgery again hence my using hernia belts. This one works so well and stays put in place and holds in exactly the right spot. Even when Mr J needs to relieve himself at the urinal or in the field, just a quick slip out the other side and back in again, no need to unbuckle or feel embarrassed in the men's room removing the Velcro strap which could wake a sleeping bear. I used to wear bikini briefs but I have found underwear as shown in the photo are best for me, I don't like the belt directly on my skin. If your hernia is a bit lower this belt is the only one. But it adjusts well to different positioning. I have a 34 inch waist and the medium size fit perfect with room to spare.

The item turned out to be mostly as described. My only reservation is that it seems to run small. It adjusted easily, and holds the adjustment, but the Velcro straps are almost at their en for me, at a 36 waist.
It's definitely a great relief for the hernia. But, by it's very nature gets to be uncomfortable to wear after an extended period. I mostly wear it around the house and for short to medium duration outings. Going to the bathroom is a chore while wearing it.
In other words, what it's meant to do, it does well. And it's OK comfortable in that context. But no way is it a comfort wear item, particularly for long periods.
