I am a proud subscriber to Barilla pasta. I get pasta shipped to my place once a month with no problems (unless you count hurricane Sandy delaying an order but that's a pretty good excuse to be late in my opinion). Anyways, Barilla makes the best pasta so I only buy that brand. It's also fairly cheaper online (I save about $2-3 bucks compared to the store). My roommates make fun of me because the grocery store is almost directly across the street from us but if I save money and don't have to put pants on for the day just to go grocery shopping then I'm the real winner.

Not Main-Course-Sized Noodles.

This pasta tastes like any other Barilla pasta, which I find pretty good. The reason I give only three stars is because it is not very "fluffy". What I mean is that even if you use it in a pasta salad, the noodles are pretty flat, so even with all the other chopped up veggies, it does not fluff up in the bowl. The noodles lay kind of flat and the pasta salad looks sad. So, I decided to use them with spaghetti sauce -- homemade with lots of veggies and stuff, and the same thing. So I think people will take a bigger serving than is actually recommended because these noodles are so small and slippery that they don't mound up into what looks like a reasonable portion. Maybe I am just not "dressing" them correctly, but I won't be using this size noodle again. They are probably just meant for soups or other recipes where the noodles are just incidental and not for the main course.

Poorly sealed!!! Spider was inside box when I opened it!!!

This product came in a carton that was not sealed. I thought: oh well, the boxes are probably well sealed. However, I discovered that they they contain no inner wrapper and are not well sealed as the cellophane can be loose. But I figured that the pasta would be safe to eat as it would be boiled--until today: I dumped the contents of a new box into an airtight storage container. I was going to flatten the box when I discovered a good sized spider on the bottom of the box. The cellophane was well attached but a very close examination of the bottom showed that the flaps were not securely glued. I am now going to throw out the remaining three boxes. I hope you will join me in not eating this product again!! I just want to add that Amazon gave me a discount on a book and is reporting this event to the warehouse.

I used Barilla soup cuts but any GOOD pasta will do. Wheels will encourage kids to eat. The secret is quality, And Barilla IS excellent. Secret two is NOT overcooking. When still chewy, drain, and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. My wife is really good at catching the perfect timing.

Cook the whole pound box and then get creative with precooked pasta. Quick and tasty variations. Here's my fav's.

Calamari Pasta Salad
Skillet cook frozen (not breaded) calamari in oil spray or broil. Chill after cooking.
Mix equal parts of calamari, cubed white cheese (mozzarella, Swiss, provolone, or feta), diced celery, diced red or yellow bell pepper (optional), frozen peas (uncooked-just rinsed). Mix in precooked pasta in an equal part to the entire mix of prior ingredients. Add just enough mayo to make it a wet consistency. Allow to chill and marinate prior to serving. Healthy hint: Use light or fat-free mayo for a lighter/healthier good salad.
The chew textures are delightful.
Would work with any pre-cooked and chilled fish food, shrimp, tilapia, salmon, even tuna.

Sun-dried tomato cheesy-mac
Microwave melt a half-inch slice of Velveeta of choice with ¼ cup sund-ried tomato bits. Then stir in as much pasta as you can to your desired pasta/cheese consistence. ReNuke-heat for about 20 seconds and just try to refrain from eating this entire bowl of mac & cheese.

Heat a can of ready-made soup and add precooked Ditalini in equal parts.
Super with Hormel Chili; Campbell's Chunky; or Progresso Clam Chowder. For kids try chicken noodle or plain-old tomato. Even add to your own homemade soup, of course.

It's been rumored you can even top off pasta with a favorite pasta sauce.

Quite versatile.

The quality of the shells is very good. Much better than what you will find in your boxes of macaroni and cheese, or Velveeta meals. Its a very tasty pasta that cooks nice and evenly ever time I use it. I have yet to turn it into a chewy mess yet, and I'm more than capable of ruining a pasta. I can get many references to attest to that.

The large shell variety is probably the most basic type of pasta you can get in these packages. And it's got the most practical use in the dishes that I make. While I generally use rigatoni for a lot of my pasta dishes, these can be used for a lot more of what I make and more.

So I like this for the versatility. Also the flavor is just as good as the rigatoni turns out. I have no complaints about the flavor whatsoever.

The prices is just about right too. With a coupon, it was about $1.20. Considering I can make three or four meals out of this, that's rather good value. And these aren't the bargain basement pasta shells either, as far as the quality is concerned, which is nice.

Overall, I'd give them recommend. They do exactly what I wanted a pasta product to do.
