I never thought I would become a connoisseur of tapes, but under the circumstances, I'm becoming quite knowledgeable. And picky. Since I often break down and recycle boxes, I've found that it works well to reinforce the box with something a bit more substantial than shipping tape. I was using duct tape or Scotch strapping tape, but needed something a bit more cost effective. So far, so good. The tape is good: good adhesion and the filaments give me hope that the packages I'm shipping will make it across the continent or across the world. Yes, the base of this tape does seem thinner than the Scotch tape or the duct tape, but it does have some strength to it with the filaments. But the tape description is not misleading, it is the economy tape, so just like the dollar store shipping tape you can pick up and detangle as you use it, you get what you pay for. However, this is much better quality than dollar store offerings.

That said, this is a good, strong tape and I most likely will re-order it when the last of the 4 rolls I originally ordered are about to run out.

picture appears much wider like 1.88" rolls shown by other vendor I purchased in same order. I should have been more careful about reading exact dimensions as this states only 1/2" wide and it is!

This tape is strong and pretty sticky when you can get it off the roll.... My tape has an issue where the sticky material comes off and stays on the top side of the tape when you are unrolling it sometimes, as well as its almost impossible to get a clean strip... you usually end up leaving a string or two on either side when you are unrolling the tape. It's almost unavoidable unless you carefully unroll it. You cant just pull a strip off quickly like normal tape. You have to carefully and slowly unroll it to avoid the issues I have said above and even then sometimes they still happen. I went to my local office supply store and got some 3M tape and it's much better and doesn't have any of the issues this stuff does but it's almost twice the price.

Tape was thinner than I expected. It was difficult to "get started" without the tape splitting along the axis of the fibers. It was inexpensive but of seemingly lower quality than other brands. I wouldn't recommend this for serious use... Therefore, not recommended and I won't be buying this again.

This is really good for packing things without worrying if the tape will part. You will need a good pair of scissors or a very sharp knife to cut. I had this tape to use for shipping overseas. And the tape held for two months as it traveled on a ship.

I needed a strong strapping tape to reinforce a box to ship a heavy item. This product performs nicely and is easier to use than others I have purchased in the past.
The tape does not break with shear force - I find that it does not cut easily with the normal cutter on a tape dispenser so I use scissors but I actually consider that a plus.

Bought to use to reinforce boxes for moving. Although this might be good for shipping something that you expect to get immediately opened, after a month the tape starts lift off the boxes. And after a couple of months it was practically falling off.
I ended up having to re-tape a bunch of boxes to be able to complete the move 6 months later.

Superior strapping tape. I can only speculate that people having trouble with it not coming cleanly off the roll are not using a strapping tape dispenser. A packing tape dispenser will not cleanly cut strapping tape. I've had zero problems. Not quite as thick as premium strapping tape, but is very strong and sticky.
