I have to say that when the first episode of this series started, I wasn't too sure about whether I was going to like it or not, but it quickly won me over. The concept is pretty straightforward, we are invited to look into what transpires in a summer family camp called Little Otter. The entertainment value is provided by several factors, including the rivalry with the neighbor summer camp for rich people, the cheating husband of Little Otter's owner Mack, the plots involving the many teenagers around, including summer loves, rivalries, bullying, and much more.

As the season progresses these characters truly grow on you. There are plenty of stereotypes represented in this series, but they are not really over the top. It's like the writers managed to successfully walk the tight line between funny and just plain wrong. I also like the balance between comedy and drama, you have times when you are laughing out loud but there are also plenty of moments that will make you pause for a second when you try to compose yourself.

The performances are very good. In particular, Rachel Griffiths delivers as she always does, and she is truly charming in the role of Mack. I also thoroughly enjoyed Rodger Corser's performance as the owner of Ridgefield, the "evil" camp across the lake. His Australian accent, the blend between ruthless business man and caring friend provides him with plenty of opportunities to shine. Several of the teenagers also deliver proficient performances, in particular the over the top funny Charles Grounds.

I hope we get a second season, since it's one of those shows that caters to pretty much everyone's tastes and provides a good dose of uncomplicated entertainment.

I think anyone who has ever worked at a summer camp in college or as a CIT while in high school, will relate to this show. Obviously things are over- exaggerated on the show for humor but I could definitely relate.

We wanted to watch this series because we like some of the actors from Dance Academy (which is a really great series). We were very disappointed in this show. It seems to be for teens because most of the characters are teens or college students but there was sex and drugs on the very first show. They are glamorizing sex and drugs on this show. The camp director had sexual intercourse with a guy she claims to dislike after getting drunk in a bar as well. I could say more but I think that is bad enough.... We are having to watch old series to find decent things on TV these days. Whats this world coming to. So sad.

This is enjoyable enough, but seems to be a production that supports a group of actors from the Australian series about ballet. There is little depth of much of anything here, and the way they have touched upon matters of social importance are shallow and transparent. But for me it brought back memories of summers, camps, being an early teen and the way little errors of judgment in teens can take things terribly off track. Rachel Griffiths gives a good performance, and it is quite nice to see Adam Garcia in anything at all is always wonderful.
