Keen sizing is a headache!..UPDATE!

Size: 8.5 B(M) USColor: Burnt Olive/Arabesque Verified Purchase

I originally ordered these an 8.5; I have Keens in size 8 and size 9; figured I couldn't go wrong going right up the middle! Nope, I need a 9. There is not much arch support in these; they feel pretty flat. Will need an insert. They do come up slightly high on the ankle bone; at least on my feet. I also ordered the Burnt Olive color; the color is way shinier than as pictured; at least on my computer. Despite these issues; they are solidly made; so I ordered the brown in a size 9...will put an appropriate insert in to help with cushioning and arch support. Will re-post to let you know how that works! Very disappointed; but with the actual quality of the shoe; very solidly made; and nice soles-along with being waterproof; I plan on wearing these as boots in a CNY winter!
Update: Ordered the brown; they had a WRINKLE on the inside of the left shoe; really bad. (TOP inside)...Wrinkle in the leather/material of only the LEFT shoe. Amazon nicely sent me another pair quickly....SAME THING! WRINKLE inside the shoe! For this price; my left foot doesn't want to feel a wrinkle; and why only the left shoe?! Very flat; no cushion; had purchased Superfeet insoles for these. Amazon is fantastic; Keen-I must say that these are the WORST shoes you have ever made! Get the wrinkles out and give them some little tiny bit of cushion and they might be ok...or ANY cushion.

I love Keen's!

I love Keens, I swear they are made perfectly for my horrible feet. These shoes are very comfortable from Mile 1 to mile 20. I have bunions on both feet and hammer toes and these shoes allow me to go as far as I want to. I will be wearing these next month when I hike the Grand Canyon and I'm confident that they will keep me comfortable, warm and dry!. I've owned Solomon's, Patagonia's and Merrill's and I've always come back to Keen's. I will only buy Keen's from now on! I really love the vibrant color too!

I went with the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 1/2 size up (just like I would for typical running shoes). The fit is perfect! I tested these out on a 5 mile hike in Hawaii. It was a wet, muddy day with various terrain. I felt I had good grip and great support on a lot of rocky and uprooted paths! Only 4 stars as they were not completely water proof. They kept my feet dry through puddles and the rain, but at one point I had to cross a stream and the shoes became waterlogged. Won't be doing that on too many hikes though, so am overall very happy with my purchase.

I'm usually a size 8 in sneakers. I had to order a size 9 because these were very restricting/small on my foot. I work with aquariums, so I needed something I can use all day/everyday which meant I needed a shoe that could measure up to the job. The shoes needed to:
- Be comfortable
- Have ankle support
- Be waterproof and be able to withstand salt water
- Protective toe
I'm very pleased to have found these shoes.

i wanted to love it so much

I wanted to like them so much because I think they looks awesome and I love the colors.
I needed waterproof shoes and ones that can go on daily walks and also on terrains and moderate hiking.
it seems like they should be the perfect choice even with a price tag above what I wished to pay.
I would give them better rate but the problem is that they are too wide so from the first time I already needed to tide my shoe quit a bit and still have the lose filing. the second thing is that I just got them a week ago and already I have discoloring of the heel and pilling of the material.

going to return them.

Love these shoes!

These shoes are a perfect fit for my wide feet and were comfortable right out of the box. I walk my dogs several miles everyday and, when my Nikes wore out, I decided to look for a KEEN walking shoe (I've been wearing KEEN shoes to work for years). I've already walked quite a few miles in them - they are great! I wish I had thought to shop KEEN for hiking shoes a long time ago!

Very comfortable waterproof shoe

It's been awhile since i bought a pair of Keen shoes, so i forgot to order an extra half-size up. Nevertheless, these fit quite well & only squeeze my toes a little bit. (My toes are ridiculously sensitive). On the whole i find them very comfortable. Excellent traction, & waterproof too. And i love the coral color! I'd definitely buy these again. I just wish shoes would come with a separate cinching system for the heels, because my forefoot is very wide but my heel is very narrow, so it's hard to make both ends equally happy.

Order 1/2 size bigger than usual but be aware THE TOE BOX IS NARROWER THAN USUAL KEEN SHOES!

I am a long time lover of KEEN shoes. This would have been my 4th pair in a few years. I usually fit a size 9 women's keen shoe and so I ordered both the 9 and 9.5 sizes with free return policy. BOTH had too narrow a toe box. I found the size 9.5 fit better overall, comparable to the size 9 in other Keen styles like the Flint shoe. ORDER 1/2 SIZE LARGER than usual in your Keen size but be aware that the TOE BOX IS MUCH NARROWER than other Keen shoes. For this reason I returned them. Back to the more klunky appearance of my Keen Flints that I live in! They are fabulous. These shoes the Marshall WP shoe, look more feminine but I miss the adequate toe box that previous KEEN shoes provided.
