Not a fan

First off, I don't recommend these mainly because of the laces. I bought this pair because I was looking for a hybrid/MTB style shoe, in case my husband and I decided to stop or walk a bit in town without the bikes. While the fit is nice, I found that I had to go up at least half a size from normal for these to fit comfortably and I still have some slipping in the heel area when I pull up. The recess on the shoes is not deep enough for the cleats that came with my pedals, which concerned me to the punishment my cleats might go through while walking and the state of my hardwood floors getting ready. Now onto the main reason I will be returning these: the laces. The laces are thin draw-string style laces with no real way to adjust the length. I have a size 39 EUR shoe and there is way too much extra lace to "hook it" to the laces near the toe as it's currently designed. Cutting to adjust the laces would have you lose the plastic draw-string piece. The end cap is bulky, so putting it in the shoes didn't work for me either. Stuffing the laces under, as shown in the picture, still managed to get caught on the pedal. Maybe I'm a special child and unable to put on shoes properly, but having my laces get caught on the pedal and wiping out is painful (and a bit embarrassing). Not a fan - of falling or these shoes. I'll be looking for something else.

great shoes

I bought these shoes for spinning and have really enjoyed them. The laces are extremely long but can be adjusted by popping the top piece and cutting the laces and then either tying them or melting the ends together with a ligher and clasping the top back on. I like the recessed clip so that you can actually get off the bike and walk in the shoe if you need to.

Numb toes

This is the first pair of cycling shoes that I have ever purchased. They make a big difference in spin class, you get much more power and stability. I wear a size 8.5 and the 41 fit, but they are narrow. I bought this style because I have high arches, I tried the Velcro type, but they would not fasten over my arches. The problem I have is that my little toe goes numb during spin class. This does not happen with my Asics size 8.5 c/d.

Not what I expected

I have several issues with these shoes. The fit is very loose, and they are had to tighten with the elastic cord. I tried to go without socks, because you are suppose to be able to, I ended up with blisters on the tops of my toes, something rubs at the end of the left shoe. Lastly, but more importantly, there is an issue with the cleats. The first time I road I had a hard time getting the cleats in place and then staying secure. Since the cleats were not new, I purchased new cleats. I still have the issue with the cleats, I cannot sprint with these shoes, they just will not stay secure, My feet fly off the pedal then it is a pain to stop and start again. I will try adjusting the cleats, but they are just a waste of my time and efforts. Bad choice on may part....this is sad because I love my other pairs of Pear Izumi, but they did not have my size.

used a little shoe-stretch spray and they are fine there now

I had to order one size up. Narrow across forefoot, used a little shoe-stretch spray and they are fine there now. Not great for walking around but for biking they're fine.
