Not even a disc is included. The only thing I like about this product is the shredder. That being said, I have been using this for years. It has blocked a couple trojans during the years and never had a virus. If you decide to go with McAfee DO NOT EVER give them a credit card number. They charge you full price for yearly updates! Watch for this to go on sale and it should cost less than $5 a year per PC. I buy the product on sale and then wait till my expiration to load the additional 12 months of antivirus.
I like this basic antivirus better than the total protection because I am not interested in parental filters.

The anti-virus software lives in a perfect harmony with known malwares. Mcafee websites says it can be removed but following the removal instruction posted on Mcafee website did not do it.
Contacted the Mcafee tech support. They are basically nice and willing to listen but could not do anything to fix the glitch. Instead they wanted you to subscribe their $179.99 yearly maintenance service.

This product was advertised as being compatible with Windows XP. It may be, but not all versions of XP. I have Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and the computer would not allow the program to complete because it was NOT compatible. Also, it states there is a CD-Rom. It also shows CD-Rom on the order. There is no CD-Rom, just a card with the product key so you can log on to the McAfee website to download the product. I'm still using a 56K modem (please don't laugh) and downloading a file of any size is a giant pain. Wasted my money. At least I got it on sell. I'm sure if you have the right versions of windows and high speed internet it would work just fine. Description of product just too vague

I've been buying, updating, renewing McAfee AntiVirus since the time it fit on a single floppy disk. I find that a new copy each year tends to be cheaper than renewing so I don't give them my credit card. Some years, I've gotten it free-after-rebate with the purchase of tax software. Even if/when you got the CD, you'd still have to download the latest A/V definition and any updates, so this method is not any slower.

You receive the packaging cardboard front/rear and a card with activation code. You have to download the software. Install likely will require a reboot (definitely will if you already have a McAfee or competing product).

This is the lowest end of the McAfee product line -- A/V, shredder, etc. I don't need add-in software to tell me that the website I'm visiting isn't really Amazon (or Wells Fargo or...). And this does the job well.

Since I am out of the country, I had my sister send me the code. I didn't get the directions on the card so I struggled to get the update onto my account. Finally, I had her copy the card and email it. I admit that I was very frustrated by the time it came because the web sites and customer support were worthless. With the info on the card, the installation was automatic including automatic removal of the old version which I had to do myself in the past. I strongly recommend this product simply because if you follow directions, it works and McAfee has served me for many years. It downloaded quickly and installed well making the disk unnecessary.

I bought this even though I'd read so many negative reviews because it is cheap. When I got it, I installed it on two computers. On the Windows 7 machine, it was a flawless installation. I just downloaded the software and installed it and it works. On the Windows XP machine, I could only get the bare bones antivirus to work and that was so slow that I just took it off and decided to go without antivirus.

I would recommend this product because it's cheap. It will probably work just fine for you if you have an internet connection and a fairly good pc. McAfee has a decent reputation.

Great price for everything you need : antivirus and firewall. Just put in the code and your already installed McAfee software will have another year added on once you run an update check. In fact, any other users under your existing and about to expire licence will be auto upped as well. Couldn't be easier. If you have dialup, and you dont already have this software installed, youre not going to have a good time. This is just a code for the 3 user subscription on a credit card sized piece of plastic, not an install disc. This was perfect for me and apparently a drag for some reviewers.
