If you enjoy fresh salads, just remember that the label is before processing! This tastes much better if you allow time for the veggies to re-hydrate and add an 1/8 cup of extra warm water when the container is removed from the microwave. I added onion flakes and red pepper flakes (standard for me) . . . no salt substitute needed. It's good cold, hot or room temperature. The first one was an experiment . . . add a dash of cider vinegar or lime for an added touch. The top makes it convenient to store in the fridge to allow time for the flavor to develop. Simple to use the lid and allow about 15 minutes (at least) for best flavor. Dr. McDougall's is a favorite brand and I've come to know what to expect . . . this one is an 'OK' if you follow the directions and much better if you allow that extra time for the fresh flavor to develop. Worth trying if you enjoy black beans and quinoa. For a low sodium diet, this is really good!

It's a quick and nutritious snack or light lunch. I add a lot more water than recommended (up to the upper blue line on the label) and also add hot sauce. Next time, I might bring some greens to go with it, so it actually feels like a salad.

I have tried it both ways...with hot water and in a microwave. Taste is good for an instant. Texture is a little too thick using the amount of water directed. I will add more the next time and expect that to improve the consistency.

I am a great fan of Dr. McDougall's soups but the Quinoa salads are just too boring for words. I think they have possiblities but it's back to the drawing board on what you add to the Quinoa. But don't let this review keep you away from the soups which are wonderful and mostly low sodium. A lot of Dr's entrees, however, have way too much sodium for me. That's not the problem here. The problem here is taste.

Very good for lunch or a quick snack. I was not expecting it to have raisins as they weren't mentioned in the description but they add a very slight sweetness to the flavor that gives it just the right touch. Easy to fix and quite filling. I toss one in my tote bag every day to take to work along with an apple and some cheese...easy peasy!

I have enjoyed other McDougall products but I found this quinoa salad so bad I had to doctor it up with many products to make it somewhat edible. I had others try it to see if it was just me but no one in my family liked it either.

It is edible, but I rarely finish the whole cup. It is a good healthy option to have on hand for an eat-at-your-desk-work lunch. I don't love it though. I prefer the McDougall's Szechuan noodles.

As food tastes vary with the individual all I can add is I liked it and will continue to buy it. I am a vegetarian so this food meets my eating style very well. I recommend it.
