We have the original Vic Furth version of this pepper mill and love it. It is nicely adjustable with a durable grinding mechanism. The finish also holds up well. We wanted it in another color and learned that Furth sold their pepper mill production to Fletchers. They are, in fact, identical (except for the color) so we are very pleased. The colors are vibrant and well applied.

This pepper Mill is wonderful. I wanted a vic firth and sure enough fletcher bought out or partnered with Vic firth. It even says Vic firth on the bottom mechanism. Cinnabar is a great happy color. Grinds superbly. May I add that tellicherry peppercorns are really good and used by many chefs as peppercorn of choice. You won't be disappointed with Fletcher's Pepper Mill

This mill seems to be very good quality. The finish is smooth and crisp and as far as grinding, I use it for pink peppercorns and I can adjust to a fine grind or coarse which is exaclty what I wanted. I would recommend it for purchase to others. I saw some other red pepper mills at local retailers and they are not finished nor as sturdy as nicely as this one. FYI to Fletchers...i really want a taller one...a red 14" perhaps??

This is basically the Vic Firth model that was rebranded I believe. Solid steel grinding mechanism, the joints that typically wear down on wood pieces will last forever. If you want a peppermill for home use that is solid, quality wood, and will last a lifetime, this is it. Bought one for my wife, then two years later, after a lot of praise, for my new in-laws. Definitely recommed, worth the investment.

Although the color of the wood is lighter than what was pictured when I ordered the mill, I am very pleased with the quality of this American-made mill. The action while grinding is very firm while smooth and it is easily changed with a twist of the cap. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone.

My wife and I were impressed with the stainless steel mechanics and grinder. Using the pepper mill brings a smile to our faces each time because this mill grinds the peppercorns uniformly over and over again. Very nice mill and we expect it will last many years.

We were so impressed that we bought a red 8" pepper mill for our daughter and her husband (more money, of course) and they love their new mill also.

I am having difficulty getting a coarse grind out of this. Anyone know if this improves as it gets broken in? Nice workmanship and function.

I wish I had bought at least the 8"; 6" is a little on the small side. That is not a criticism of the product, but a bit of advice to shoppers.
