Since Midland has been making weather radios for some time, I was expecting a well designed unit. But programming this radio to do what you wanted it to do (e.g., sound an alarm for both watches and warnings of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms but not for flash floods or 12 other possible alarms) is an arduous and tedious and uncertain task, do in part to the complicated repetitive steps one must go through, and the very poor instructions on how to do these steps. ALSO, the lights that light up, red for warning, and orange for watch, cannot be seen if the unit is situated under a reading lamp, only if the unit is in a somewhat dark room. A LOT MORE THOUGHT NEEDS TO GO INTO DESIGNING THIS UNIT TO MAKE IT IS USER FRIENDLY!
