I've only used it three times, but haven't experienced any problems. I wish I had chosen a slot feed model, however. With the slide out tray on this model, it can be a little difficult to load and unload DVDs. This was a good value though, and so far, so good. Only time will tell.

It does what it should. I am using it with my Microsoft Surface 3 Pro, which does not have an internal DVD/Blu Ray reader. The power supply uses a USB cable, which is a bit inconvenient, given how the data transmission uses a USB port, too, and most computers that would need an external reader might have few USB ports. The Pawtec drive is light, sturdy and fast. Beware that Windows does not have native Blu-Ray reading. So, if you want to introduce a Blu-Ray and watch a movie right away, you might need to download a media player (I recommend AVL, the one with the traffic cone) and play around with some Windows files. Truth be told, optic drives are getting out of fashion lately. I haven't had the need to use this one much.

Have not used it much, but it seems to reconnect itself every few minutes if I am not using it. If I put it in and use it for loading or unloading files, then do something else, it will reconnect itself. I can live with it, but it is annoying. I could find no other USB 3.0 for the price.

I have not tested the burn aspect but I love the low profile design.
I have tested the read capacity and it is a solid performer, combine this drive with Cyberlink PowerDVD 13 and prepare to be amazed at how close to Blu-ray your DVD movies look like on a1080p screen.

Solid and sleek. Works well so far. Only frustration came from windows 8, which no longer includes media player, and, to play blue ray, you have be sure to get the right media player application. Complicated process for something that should be easy. BUT, this is not pawtec's fault. The hardware is nice and seems very durable.

This works well for reading Blu-Ray discs from my Surface Pro 3. I was able to rip some of my Blu-Ray discs to MKV fairly quickly for taking with me on the go. It functions well as a multi-drive too as I was able to install a couple of games by DVD to my Surface Pro 3.

I'm giving it 4 stars because of the need for external power for most machines that I have tested with. I am able to use it with a powered USB hub or a separate USB AC adapter however It would be nice to have an AC power adapter for the drive along with the USB power adapter.

Quickly recognized by computer and seems to work great. You can't beat the USB 3.0 transfer rates! Reads and writes as quickly as from your hard drive.
