My baby is small (18 pounds at 1 year) and I had ordered the larger BabyBjorn Potty Chair and it just seemed too big. This one seems like a much better size for him. Both potty chairs are sleek, easy to clean, simple design. The bowls seem to be interchangeable. However, the Smart Potty is about an inch lower than the Potty Chair so it is a better fit for my little one. I thought the higher back/sides on the Potty Chair would make it seem more stable, but my child seems very stable and comfortable on this one. I will post a photo of the two chairs side-by-side for comparison... if I had been able to see them side by side I probably would have purchased the Smart Potty to start with!

Deciding between the Baby Bjorn Smart Potty and the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair for my 10 month old boy whose weight is at 75th percentile, I went to a store to compare the two products. Major findings:

1. The seat size is the same - the removable inner potty is the same on both models.

2. The seat on the Smart Potty is lower. Pros - harder to topple. Cons - if the child is taller the sitting position may be more like squatting.

At the store my boy sat on the Potty Chair and decided to reach for something and toppled the Potty Chair. The Smart Potty seems harder to topple, though not impossible. In the end I purchased the Smart Potty. It takes up little space in the bathroom and cabinet. My kid is in the first week of potty training and hasn't had a "mission accomplished" yet, but with a toy in his hands he seems fine sitting on the potty for 5 minutes.

This potty is small enough to use with my baby for elimination communication. I have been putting my baby on this potty since she was 3 months old. She sits comfortably on it. It is easy to clean out. The rubber on the bottom makes it stay put so it doesn't slip around if my baby moves.

My daughter, 20 months, has been using this potty regularly for 2 months. It has been great and she loves it! The rubber around the bottom really does secure it to the floor and it is super easy to clean. No funny parts or crevices to get dirty.
She is of average size and this potty fits her quite well. I originally got this one because I wanted to teach her to sit on in while she was still quite small (14 months). But she has not out grown it at all and we won't need to get another one before she moves up to the big potty (with a ring). She enjoys it so much that sometimes she will sit on it to read books during naked time. The splash gaurd/hump in front does not bother her at all; she has learned to get on and off of it gracefully. I am planning to use it as a travel potty once she graduates to using the big potty/ring at home.

These BABYBJORN Smart Potties are great for toddlers. They are very well built (ours are still in top shape after three years), easy to clean, stable (non-slip bottoms), made with high quality plastics without smell. Because they are relatively shorter, it is great for smaller kids (I would say ages two to four) and is easy to take on road trips and camping. We also have its cousin, the bigger one (pictured on right side), which is also nice but usually leave it at home since it is bulkier to take along.

This potty is a quality item from Sweden. Recommended.

Absolutely love this Smart Potty for my baby. I practice Elimination Communication, which is basically the practice of offering your baby the potty. By 4 weeks old she was consistently using the potty for all of her pees/poos and this is the potty we used from the beginning. When she was really little, I put this potty in the bassinet on her Pack and Play and then used a lot of blankets and towels around it to make the hole smaller so I could actually rest her onto the potty as I held her on it. Now that she's 4 months old, she sits well on this potty. This will last her for awhile. When we go out and about, I found out that she does not like using strange restrooms so I bought a second one of these to put in the car. I made up a whole changing/potty station on the back of my hatchback and that's where she goes potty. The insert is very sturdy and smooth - very easy to rinse out and clean. It can even be held and used alone - I've stashed the insert in my diaper bag before. The entire unit is strong and very sturdy and there is a rubberized bottom for good grip. I love this silver color as well. Gender neutral and very attractive. You can buy "potty cozies" for extra comfort for your baby. It's basically an elastic cloth that wraps onto the lip so that their bums are on the cloth and not on the cold plastic. Sometimes the cold plastic can be a big deterrent to babies using the potty. You can also buy extra wide cloth headbands to use as potty cozies too. This potty doesn't have a high back so I bought the Summer Infant Lil Loo and that thing is a beast compared to this nice compact potty. It's also thinner plastic (the plastic insert feels cheap and thin) compared to this well made potty. I'm planning on using the Summer Infant one when mine is bigger, but I'm not as pleased with the build on that one. I am very happy with this potty and would definitely recommend it!!
