A friend gave me a Takeya pitcher as a gift, and I was skeptical because I like to French press my tea or cold brew it because it is less bitter. However, I loved it and ended up buying another one. The tea does not come out bitter with 5 minutes of steeping. The filter that you put the loose leaf tea in is great--it makes sure no tea particles get into your tea, and it is dishwasher safe. The black tea it came with was good, but I bought some tea on here that I like much better. I have had no problem with the lid leaking, and it fits just fine in the door of my refrigerator. Also, you can use this to cold brew your tea, but it is hard to judge how long to leave the tea in. If you don't want cloudy tea, make sure you boil the water you use to make ice and/or use boiled water.

I have tried a lot of iced tea makers, and this is definitely my favorite.

I bought this product because the 2-quart pitcher just by itself is more expensive elsewhere on Amazon. This product comes with the infuser extender and holder, 2 boxes of tea, and instructions (I've read from other reviews that the pitcher by itself doesn't come with instructions). I was skeptical of the "flash chill" technology, but it works better than I expected, better than my previous method of just dumping ice into a pitcher of hot tea. Still, I wouldn't call the end result "ice cold." I don't think it's possible to get that perfect, crisp coldness without chilling the tea in the fridge overnight. The process uses a lot of ice - not a big deal if you have an ice maker, but expect to use 2 standard ice cube trays otherwise. The pitcher is supposed to be leak proof when stored on its side, but I found that it started leaking on the second day. It's too tall to fit into my fridge, but it fits perfectly in the side door. As far as the Takeya brand tea, I didn't care for it, but my husband liked it.

I used the Takeya system for both loose leaf and bagged tea. I use it daily it's worked very well for me and I highly recommend it! I also suggest buying an electric tea kettle to heat the water. So much faster! (I bought the Hamilton beach 40870 stainless steel)

Use it everyday. My friends love it too.

I love that its not so big. I am disabled and this product is easy enough for me to tilt. I no longer have to fill a heavy big glass jar of brits. Instead I use their Britas faucet adapter into my Takeya tea maker now. =) The simple joys of life.

It does work like it says, but it's too small for me. I drink a lot of iced tea in the summer, and this just doesn't make enough. The tea blends it comes with are good, though. If you aren't a heavy tea drinker like me, I would recommend it, but it's just not for me.
