It didn't work for me and as another reviewer said, this stuff just lumps up instead of mixing smooth and makes it impossible to line a denture. It is a WASTE OF MONEY.

UPDATE - March 22, 2012

I e-mailed Majestic Drug Company on March 17th asking for help in using their reliner. Please read the e-mail and the reply from them;

Dear Majestic Drug,

Please tell me how to mix the D.O.C. Reline-It without getting the lumps. I followed the enclosed instructions and also your FAQ instructions online.

Q- What can I do about lumps in the material when I mix the liquid and powder?
A- Mix vigorously and try to thin out the lumped material.

I cannot get the "clumps" out of the material as it sets up long before it is smooth enough to use. I have gone through 2 boxes (4 applications) and all have the same result.

This is really discouraging and I need your help.

Thank you,

Hello CAM,

Here's a tip, put the liquid in the freezer for no longer then 3 minutes. That will prolong the setup time and you will be able to mix the powder with the liquid without it getting lumpy. If you do not have anymore kits, please give me your full name and address and I will send you a replacement.

Thank you.

I received the replacement reliner from Majestic Drug today and followed Wendy's tip and guess what. IT WORKED PERFECT. This stuff is super simple to use. I will update as to how long it lasts compared to some of the other products out there.

Another tip; If you have a problem with the taste, put a couple of tablespoons of baking soda in the hot water you are supposed to soak the newly lined denture in. It will neutralize the taste.

I purchased this in most part thanks to the review written by Cam. Then I followed the "tips" that was in his review. It worked like a charm. This may be premature, but the guy I was using for a Dentist at an "Affordable Dentures" place could not get my lowers to fit properly. They haven't since the day they were made. So after $160 for a new "reline", and seven 60 mile trips for "adjustments", I was ready to throw them out.

Since I hadn't used this product, and since I had a spare set of lowers laying around, I got the spares out, mixed up a batch and relined the old ones. They were nowhere near a fit after all these years. Well, now they fit better than the ones the "professional" made and relined for me. This is a great product. For the first time in over two years my mouth doesn't hurt. I only hope it lasts. I may buy a bunch more and stockpile it before the government decides it works too well and takes it off the market!!

Mom used this (actually the Denturite) until she could get into her dentist. Before she could tell him what she had done, he kept looking back at her record and finally asked her when he had relined her dentures as he could not find it in her record. When she told him, he said if it is working and they feel good, I'm not going to touch them. Since then, had been looking for a replacement since it is no longer produced and found this product which has worked equally as well.

I would not recommend someone using as a "final fix" without first checking with their dentist.

If you follow the directions, including setting the solution in the refrigerator to get cold, it works great.

Who would have thought that at the age of 45, I would be wearing dentures. I give "props" to denture wearers around the globe. I had to get all my remaining teeth removed and the plan was to put in the dentures right after the extraction. However due to insurance "red tape" it took months to get approval for the dentures and then when they were made, they did not fit my healing gums correctly. Having this procedure done was worse than giving birth. At least once you give birth, the pain goes away and the memory fades. Not so with dentures. Once the dentures were ready and I had to put them on my gums that were still healing (it takes a good 6 months to a year for gums to truly heal) it was like trying to fit into shoes that are too small for you but you have to wear them even if they hurt - only the pain caused by the dentures was much worse. As with everything, eventually the pain subsides but I still had to go to weekly and bi-weekly dental visits to adjust the dentures to my healing gums. To top it all off, I had numerous bone spurs growing out of the jaw bones. Yep, if something bad can happen, it will happen to me.

I am still at the point where I have not finalized the dentures and have to use adhesive in order to be able to eat something soft. Forget about solid foods. I tried all types of adhesives (creams, powder, strips) and found that the best that works for me is Fixodent cream applied to the denture first and then Fixodent powder sprinkled on top. This has has the longest lasting effect and has allowed me to at least chew some food. I know many people complain about the zinc contained in Fixodent but as long as you don't over do it, you will be fine. I know denture wearer that have use this product for years and years with no side effect.
