HALTI OptiFit - Guaranteed Stop Pulling Programme
The HALTI OptiFit stops dogs from pulling by steering the head so that the body has to follow. Invented by Dr Roger Mugford, the HALTI OptiFit has been designed to provide dogs with an optimum fit whatever their face shape. How does it work? Its unique design works by gently directing the dog’s head, in much the same way as a headcollar works on a horse.
How is it different to other Headcollars?
The HALTI OptiFit is a training program which guarantees to stop a dog pulling The pack includes a HALTI OptiFit Headcollar, a comprehensive training DVD and booklet and a HALTI safety link Adjustable chin strap which follows the contours of a dogs face Unique reflective cheek straps Optimum fit, doesn’t rise into the dogs eyes or slide down to his lips (flews) Designed to fit most breeds from short nosed Boxers to long nosed Wolfhounds, providing maximum comfort.
Fitting Tips:
Time should be taken when accustoming a dog to the HALTI OptiFit, so that he has a positive association with it. Initially, place the noseband flat in your hand and feed the dog treats, so that he is happily putting his nose through it. When he becomes used to it you can secure the neck section. To ensure that he cannot pull the nose band back off, slide the camlock towards his chin and lock. When first using the HALTI OptiFit, ensure you continually praise and reward your dog and feed treats, to help distract him and ensure it is a rewarding experience.
Optimum Fit
The HALTI OptiFit has been designed to fit the dogs that other headcollars don't. The new contoured hugging design ensures that the HALTI OptiFit does not rise into the dog's eyes or slide down to his lips.
Safe & Secure
The sliding camlock under the dog's chin allows for a snug fit, whilst ensuring that the HALTI OptiFit remains firmly in place. Each headcollar comes with a free HALTI safety link, which attaches the headcollar to your dog's regular collar. This ensures that your dog cannot get loose if he manages to escape from the headcollar.
Advanced Design
The material for the HALTI OptiFit, has been carefully selected to be lightweight but with extra padding internally so that it is comfortable for the dog to wear. Being made from the same weave as a car seatbelt means that the headcollar is also extremely strong. Another great feature are the highly reflective side strips, for additional visibility which are perfect for those evening walks

I have a slightly older version of this that doesn't have the reflective strips, but otherwise it's essentially the same as the one listed. I got mine for my 75lb American Bulldog. She is all muscle and pulls incredibly hard if she gets excited. She used to make my shoulders ache. I got this for her and it completely kills the pulling.
I only trust this head collar because it is contoured, adjustable, and well padded on the snout. The padding was incredibly important to me for her safety (bulldogs are brachycephalic and I didn't want to obstruct her airway further). The price was also great and I've machine washed it without problem.
The only downside to this collar is that my girl HATES it, even after a year of using it. She used to run from me when she saw it, but after giving her tons of treats each time I put it on, she tolerates it. She still rubs her face on legs and sometimes crotches (Sorry man at Petco that got headbutted in the genitals by her...) to try and get it off.
Also, I will say that this collar has caused some issues in the way that perceive my girl. She is in the pit bull family and people tend to think it's a muzzle and are frightened by her. This collar does NOT prevent the dog from being able to bite/drink/eat.
All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend this to any dog owner.
