The old nordic tracks on this album are superb - really, they couldn't be any better! Many a time, as I was listening to them, was I inspired by the music to picture myself picking up an axe or sword and charging into combat. Other times I envisioned an old nordic culture going about some rituals. The point is that this music will make you think about how life used to be for us (us being anyone with Germanic blood). Awesome album!

On a side note, Corvus Corax is a really good band that deserves to have more exposure in North America. It's a shame that most people in N.A. don't even have a clue who they are or what they play. Although, I think that if they had more exposure that they would be pretty popular as the sounds they produce are simply fantastic. The world needs more music like this so that people can keep in contact with their roots, instead of listening to random garbage that pollutes the mind.

I pre-ordered this album off of Amazon.de after hearing the "Sverker" teaser that Corvus Corax had posted. This album is worth what I paid and more (and I paid A LOT of shipping to get it to me) if only even for the song "Sverker" alone. Currently, this at the top of my list of absolutely beautiful songs. Many are also very moving & easily transport your mind to ages long past. It's perfect medieval folk music, & anyone into this genre should quite enjoy.

If you don't grow hair on your chest after listening to this album, then you're doing it wrong. Seriously, though, this band is fantastic, and they have an incredible thing going with their mixed sounds and harmonies. Very cool.

This is my first Corvus Corax album. I plan to buy the rest after hearing this one. Great heavy tones. If you like bagpipes, this is music for you. Good drinking songs if that is what you are looking for, but the album goes much further musically.

This was part of a selection of music that I bought to change up the music I play during class and home yoga practice. They are a fun addition to add, especially to some of the livelier classes/ more challenging classes with focus on heating up the core or flowing through sequences more quickly.

This is definitely in my top 5 favorite cds (of all time ... which is saying something considering the others are Elvis, Ella Fitzgerald, YoYo-Ma, Metallica, & Nirvana). This is one of those albums that you can put on and let play until the end without skipping a single track. It's a little dark and, well, Medieval. I bought it awhile ago and I still listen to it very frequently.

The music is strong and emotional (but not in the flowery way Libera or Medaeval Babes are).

I love the band's work, but this one is particularly inspiring! It also includes perhaps the only song I've heard them sing in English (Drinking Loving Dancers).
