Best Mop I've Ever Owned

The balance and feel of this mop are perfect. It’s sturdy without feeling too heavy, even when the onboard reservoir is full.

The reservoir is easy to fill with whatever cleaning solution you prefer. The simple mechanism to release the liquid is probably my favorite part of the mop – hold the button in and fluid flows out in 3 nicely controlled streams. Release it and it stops. Because its gravity fed, it is completely silent unlike the noisy, complicated, stupid mechanism that required batteries on a first generation Swiffer wet jet that I previously owned.

Using plain water and the grey microfiber pad that was included with my mop leaves my maple floors nice and clean with no residue or fragrance left behind.

A wide array of compatible microfiber pads are available, including disposable ones should you wish to clean up a mess that you’re not keen on running through your washing machine.

All of these features are available on the non-“executive” version of this mop for about twenty dollars less in traditional janitorial yellow. I’m glad I spent the extra cash for the look I preferred because it seems like it’ll be a great tool for many years.

I would have given 5 stars, but I am a middle-aged male and there were no instructions. I know it's only a mop, but I could not fill it up--it would not accept any fluid. So, I'm thinking what the heck, do I need something else to attach to this nipple on the cap to fill it? I finally took the filter screen out and realized the fluid container is really just a collapsible bladder. I stuck my finger in it which gave it enough of an opening to fill it up with cleaning solution. Come on Rubbermaid--throw us a bone here! I don't have a Bachelor's in Janitorial Skills. Once I got it working though, I was a happy camper. It also comes with two nice quality mop pads. I have not owned other mop brands to compare it to (obviously) but this one seems fine to me.

The fluid container is permanently affixed and has a small mesh screen over the filler hole, which causes it to be very difficult to refill without the purchase of an additional accessory item that runs about $35. With that accessory, this is a very nice quick-mop system that works quite well. This is a heavy-duty, commercial, version of the Rubbermaid spray-mops. Just be prepared to spend $$$ for all the parts to conveniently use it.

Great mop

Reviewing a mop is not something I thought I would ever do but this thing is fantastic. Seriously, I will never buy a weenie homeowner grade spray mop at the big box store ever again. It holds a lot of the fluid of your choice, sprays reliably and the thin head and wide microfiber pad makes short work of the real estate. I find the button pretty ergonomic. Some people say it hurts their thumb but I can't imagine why you would use your thumb. I have my whole hand over the top of the button while I'm mopping so it's just a squeeze. Three decent steams of cleaner come out behind the mop head because who mops forward and walks on the wet floor? Filling the mop is a tad tricky but I've discovered an old sports bottle with a pop up spout is perfect for measuring out the right amount and squirting it into the reservoir. The trick to making this mop really perform is to plunk down what feels like way too much money on a giant stack of microfiber pads so you can change them fairly often. They are high quality, last a long time and have the perfect balance of scrubbing power and absorbency. My floors look twice as good in half the time.
