The Born Free venting system is a better design as opposed to Dr. Brown's that uses a long tube that's often difficult to clean. These come apart from the bottle easily and can be thrown in the dishwasher or rinsed by hand. The main issue I have with these is that the rubber gets damaged easily and causes leaks. If they made this more durable, it would be a 5 star product.

Our bottles started leaking. We thought they just weren't tight enough but instead it was these vents. You can tell if you need them replaced by inspecting the little slit on the nipple part of the vent. Over time, and many cleanings, they will start to tear which then lets the slit open up more than it should and milk gets through it then leaks out the sides by the threads.

we love the born free bottles. they are excellent. there is a little slit at the tip of this vent. if it gets tears in it then the bottle will leak through the vent. it took me a while to realize what the problem was. i'm so glad that it's easy to replace these vents.
i'm not sure why it comes with the white plastic piece that holds it. don't really need to replace that part!

The old ones got old and the plastic got hard. So it started leaking every time we shaked the bottle. They need to be replaced when the plastic starts to turn yellow. The stores dont have the replacement.

Bought these as a replacement set. The images and description (I believe) don't reflect that both parts for the venting system are included. It was a nice surprise when we received it, but would be good if the description (and image) reflected this better.

These are ok but we actually ended up choosing another bottle so now we don't use these. We had leaking with Born Free and replacing these parts didn't resolve it. Lots to wash, and the silicone split on some of ours after short term use. We like Avent Natural (glass) better.

So convenient to purchase on Amazon and the price is reasonable. Born Free is one of our favorite brands for our infant because of the Active Flow Venting System to reduce air being inhaled while drinking from the bottle. It's good to have a couple of these extra Active Flows handy because it when washing bottles and etc, this plastic/rubbery insert could wear out after time.
