When I order this digital thermometer I was worry about the reading accuracy, as soon as it arrived I took it to my work place to the calibration department and put it next to the thermometer they use. I came back few minutes later and I was surprised about how accurate this thermometer is. The difference was +- .01
I'm very pleased with this thermometer and for the price I can't ask for more.

This thermometer works very well for the price. It is very small, so it fits on the corner of the tank very well by suction cup, and is barely even noticeable unless you are purposely looking at is, or looking for it. It has a very long wire as well, it is a few feet long, so you can install it wherever you want to.

I was a little weary of this product at first because of the cheap price, But I was very surprised when i received it. I am very happy with this purchase. It is worth the money for a digital thermometer

I use this to monitor the temperature in my freshwater community tropical aquarium setup. It works as expected. I only wish that it had an auto-shutoff feature to conserve battery power instead of requiring me to push and hold down the power button for 3-4 seconds before it shuts off. I suppose I could just leave it on all the time but that would be a total waste so instead, I just check it once a day and try my best to remember to turn it off. At this price point, I'm probably asking for too much anyway.

I purchased two of these units. There are others from Amazon which feature the same design but are not available on Prime. I did not feel like waiting the extra week or two, so I opted to take advantage of the fast delivery and paid a few bucks extra each.

The first thing I noticed was both units were turned on and reading (identical) temperature. I have no idea how long the watch batteries installed in the units will last, but the LED readout is clear and easy to read. Based upon the design of the screen, I imagine dwindling battery life will manifest by faded digits (similar to a calculator).

The thermocouple design is simple with a small suction cup to hold it in place in the aquarium. The suction cup works fine in water. The packaging indicates a margin of error of +/- 1 degree with precision to a tenth of a degree. Seeing that both units read the same in the packaging, I dropped both thermocouples into my large aquarium. Temperatures increased at nearly the same rate and settled on the same temperature, to the tenth of a degree. This is a good start.

The units are lightweight but sturdy. They have a suction cup on the rear. With a little moisture, the suction cups hold onto the glass part of the aquarium with ease. Turning off the units is simple - hold the power button for about three seconds. The display will turn off. I have a smaller aquarium that I used one of the units with because the heater was misbehaving and heating the tank too high for my fish. I left the unit powered on for the entire day and better part of a night to monitor temperatures. The battery held up just fine.

I just wanted this as a secondary thermometer to my Ranco controller. The display is difficult to read from an angle. The suction cups never hold for more than a week. The temperature reading is consistent, but runs 1.5 degrees cool without a way to calibrate.

I have two of these for my fish tank (in case one fails) and they're usually within one degree of eachother. If you don't need a super, super exact reading and can deal with knowing the temperature within one degree of what the reading is then this is a great product. It's inexpensive and has a long life span.

Very nice thermometer. Accurate and sensitive. However, the display is hard to read in unlit room conditions and the suction cup is useless. I bought 6 of these items and had to replace the suction cups with velcro strips on all of them. The velcro works great.
Despite these two deficiencies, these thermometers are MUCH better than the traditional analog devices.
