I took this from 4 stars to 1 after using it for 2 weeks. All the below was valid while it worked, then it just stopped working. The outlets no longer work and neither do the USB ports. It wasn't under a heavy load (although we did use the USB function regularly), but there was only one device plugged in. The only solace is the little red light still comes on.

I'm GREATLY disappointed in this poor workmanship. I have no idea why it would just fail after two weeks, when I have other power strips that have lasted for 15 years. Just disappointed overall with this experience.

Original Review:

The first thing that I noticed about this power strip is its slim-line footprint. It's lighter than other power strips that we've used, yet its claims of effectiveness are just as prominent as any other strip. The biggest issue for us that with only 6 outlets, it's not really suited for our entertainment center (which this was clearly designed for).

I did manage to plug it in using some of our system components, and honestly, I didn't see any difference. The documentation proclaims that the MONSTER power filtration can provide "better picture and sound" but I did not find that to be the case. Admittedly, I've invested more than a couple of bucks into my system, but I can't imagine exactly what they're referring to.

When I plugged in the coaxial connection, I did not see any noticeable difference in quality, in ether HD or SD. I might be expecting a lot though. I will say that for some reason I have burned out one TV and one Cable box on the erratic power here where I live, so the coaxial part might actually help with saving my current set-top box. Really no way of the average user being able to tell this though.Read more ›

USB devices to charge myself on the works.
Power cords connect power.
Power regulation through speakers has been improved.
You can read more on that on the box.
Get it for your sound system for for instruments there's really sensitive.
My instruments are very sensitive so I got this product.

I was looking for a 12 outlet surge protector with at least 2 USB outlets, and this Monster Core Power 1200 fit the bill perfectly. I was actually at Fry's ready to buy the white version of this product, but decided to scan the barcode using my Amazon app on my iPhone. This black version came up with FREE same day shipping and about $5 cheaper, so I bought it right there on my app. It arrived that very evening just as it guaranteed. What I love most are the 6 outlets on the sides of the unit for odd shaped plugs and adapters. I also love the USB outlets because it allows me to use my usb outlet adapters elsewhere. 5 stars!

I am very happy with this purchase, while I feel 50 dollars is a bit much for a standard power strip, this one is definatly worth it to me. I plug in my 12 speaker surround, sub woofer, 55" plasma TV, Roku, PS4, as well as running my cable lines through it with no problems. Hopefully when the surge finally comes it holds up? I don't feel like trying to test it :)

I love the Monster power outlet. I live in a very rural area and have a lot of power surges and they really save my machines I am an avid sewer and it can cost thousands of dollars to have a new board put in my machines with the Monster I have no worries. The Monster Core Power 1200 is exactly what I received from the picture. It eliminated all the clutter of wires that I had. I mounted it inside my computer desk where it won't be seen and ran all the wires to it leaving just one sticking out to charge my phone which charges it alot quicker than my regular charger. I also noticed my computer even ran faster and my speakers sound alot clearer. I would highly recommend.
