Nice vest however....

I ordered this vest at what I felt was an excellent price. I normally wear a 2x however in this case I ordered a 3x anticipating it being a little small. It was, and as a 3x it was still a little snug. The vest appears to be well made and the material seams to be nice leather, however the leather had a very strong processing (I'm assuming) chemical smell. Weather permitting, I allowed the vest to "air out" outside in the fresh air for a couple of months and the smell is still faint. I anticipate that eventually, it will disappear completely. Delivery from Amazon was as promised.

It's nice soft leather as says fits good has nice pocket space on inside pockets I'm 6'2" 190lbs so if your bigger than that I would go up a size

Way better quality leather vest than I expected

Way better quality leather vest than I expected. It fit as expected (size medium for partner who is 6'3" and 170 lbs (thinner dude) ) It was PERFECT for his Daryl Dixon costume (sans the laces on Daryls vest but you can put in grommets). Much better option to buy this and make the wings than buy a crummy pleather and more expensive commercially made "Daryl Dixon" vest. RECOMMEND!

Good enough for my needs

I'm not a motorcyclist. I wanted a light vest for my Navy/Beirut patches. This is just what I needed.

Pros: The stitching is precise and the leather is brand new and soft and smooth. No flaws or blemishes. Size XXL fits me perfectly. The lining is luxurious. The two outside and inside pockets are handy.

Cons: The snap-buttons do not hold their closure. After wearing it for awhile, though, I have to say the one button that does not keep closed does not bother me, as I never button them all anyway.

I have edited my rating to 4 stars instead of 2.

A Good Value

The fit is excellent, although the hem will ride up when the vest is fully buttoned and I'm seated (not a big demerit). I'm disappointed that the leather, which is described as soft and has a bit of sheen in the picture, is so lifeless. I'm never pleased when leather is treated so as to imitate matte plastic, however unintentionally. My solution is to rub down the vest front with leather cleaner/conditioner, and then the vest is ready to wear with a good-quality shirt and provide a nice contrast to it. (The vest is perfectly fine just as it is when worn with casual clothes, though.)

A little stinky probably why the price is so low.

This is a well made vest. If you look at most vest advertisements you will see that there are a lot of people who don't understand that vests are worn tighter than most garments. That is why you see a lot of people claiming they run smaller than usual. They came from waist coats which are typically a tighter fitting garment. So if you want a loose fit buy a size larger.

Now to why I rated this well made vest only three stars. There is no free lunch here! I own a gun leather business so I was thinking of making a vest but at 20 dollars for a leather vest I couldn't even lay it out for that let alone cut and sew it! This vest has be treated or stored in some place that has given it an odor that even the dullest of noses will notice. That is why I presume the price is so ridiculously low. I have tried to get the smell out and have been marginally successful. If moldy or the smell of something that has been stored in a damp warehouse for years doesn't bother you or you have no problem airing it out for days with Febrese deodorant sprayed all over it and still having some of the smell then go for it.

Great vest

The vest is actual leather not some bs pleather or whatever.
It has two inside and outside pockets.
It has a black silk like lining on the inside.
Buttons are durrible.
Its great for my biker club so we all have vests and im still in school and we look intimidating.
The only bad thing is get it a size bigger because i ordered a large and it comes up a little short.

Size issues and quality issues

I had read all of the reviews that said order two sizes larger because it runs very small. But when I got the 3xl it fit like a 3xl would fit on me. I than had to pay to ship the old one back and pay to ship a new one here. Because of that the great deal I was getting was no longer good. Also once I got the proper sized one I put it on once and when I took off one of the snaps came undone. I have since taken it to a leather repair place in town to have better snaps added. Dont be fooled by the good deal. I would recomend going with a higher quality one.
