These work as designed, nice and soft for the living room fan/lighting; you'd not even know they're LED when they're on, which is good for the living room area. We had tried some other LED's that were 60w and they were super bright (not even 5000 daylights) and they refused to dim (although the box said dimmable). These actually dim as expected.

Am absolutely loving the change from incandescent bulbs to LED. I purchased a quantity of these bulbs for ceiling fans throughout the house and the soft light ambiance they provide is a vast improvement over the harsher light emitted by the incandescent bulbs. Further, the amount of heat generated by the LED bulbs is almost nil by comparison. The small amount of electricity utilized is amazing considering the fact that the LEDs only pull 4 watts per bulb compared to the 40 watts per incandescent bulb yet provide the same amount (if not a tad bit more) of brightness. If these bulbs last as long as they reputedly do, I'll be an even happier camper.

Conserving electric and reducing my electric bill with these and many other LED bulbs in my house. There is black print on the white base of the LED bulb. My bulbs are installed base up in the chandeliers five frosted glass diffusers seven feet off the floor so one cannot see the spec's printed on the white base of the bulb. They give off a very bright yet soft white light. I would buy them again.

In the picture on Amazon, the bulbs appear to be a single color or nearly so, with no writing. Actually the bulbs are two distinct colors, white and gray, with writing on the bottom section. These bulbs cannot be used in any fixture where the bulb is not covered.

I ordered 8 bulbs, two were broken. It took about a month for the TCP RLDT4W27KF2 led frosted bulbs to arrive. I looked into returning them but time limited had passed and light bulbs were not "fulfilled" by Amazon...so out of luck. The bulbs had a white band on each bulb base as others noted- and put out a very stark light. Would rate a 0 if possible!

Great, uniform light output (upper half only), weather resistant, power efficient, and low cost compared with just a short time ago. I was replacing E12 bulbs in my porch light every 6 months, due to weather exposure, temperature, and the fact the bulbs were incandescent. These should last practically forever. Recommended.
