Not sure about the 2 star review and how it could possibly be difficult to use a phone dock but ok... Hard to plug in? Is it hard to plug in a toaster? Even if it is a pain to hook up the micro usb to this dock (its not) its a one time deal which is the whole point of a dock...

Anyway, this dock is well made, has a large base so its stable and is compatible with thinner cases. I have a Diztronic TPU case on my G2 and with the insert removed it fits perfectly. Yes, there is an insert although it does not look like it, there is also a notch to get your fingernail underneath to pop the edge out and you can remove it. You can see in the stock Amazon pic that the phone is sitting on the insert, there is a seam right under the plastic the phone is on and that whole thing comes off.

Only bad thing is the price but that's what I get for finally buying a newer phone and not getting year old "near new" phone secondhand, accessories will be pricey. Worth it though because I use my phone as an alarm in the morning and a media player for listening to music at work. I will post back later on if this dock allows USB audio out, I have not had a chance to try that yet. My old Moto Bionic car docks came with USB cables that had a headphone jack integrated into them and I plug that directly into my speakers for seamless charging/hookup. I wish the LG G2 cardock was this nice, that doesn't even have a charging port and doesn't work with cases but THIS dock is great. It is MUCH nicer to be able to dock the phone at night and have it look and function exactly like an alarm clock instead of just laying there flat. Same deal with it at work. Don't know why more ppl don't have docks when they pay $50 for an Otterbox and $20 for a screen protector.Read more ›

Description stated you can leave your case on your phone while it is on the docking stand. This was true, but it was very difficult to do and difficult to hook up the charging cable. NOT WORTH THE $50 THIS COST! My husband tried to be nice since it was a gift I gave him for Christmas, but after two weeks of using it, he asked me if I could send it back. Bummer!!!

Its a great dock for the g2, but way over priced! Not much else to tell really, I believe that for the price we pay for our cell phones and how fast they depreciate, all accessories like a dock should be included....robbing consumers to purchase necessary extras seems to be a way of life, and its not right!
