Considering its price, this is a fantastic hands-free option for pickup inside the human vocal range.
The 3.5mm Audio jack means no driver conflicts that can occurs using USB and it requires no external power source.
Paired with an audio card that supports EAC (Electronic Echo Cancellation) this Mic works well in Skype, Mumble, Ventrilo and virtually any other VOIP software when using your PC's speakers instead of a headset.

So (again within the class and price range) this is likely the most economically effective option for amateur level voice recording. Hence the 5-Star rating.

Four stars equals "I like it". But this must be viewed in light of the price. I wanted a microphone for a project recording the spoken voice. I wanted moderate quality, but I didn't want to spend a lot. This microphone works great for that.

Is it truly a "great" microphone? No, but it's great for the price.

The sound is clear. I get a little background hum, but audacity can get rid of that easily. Great for a fun simple project like mine.

This microphone not only looks good and it works quite well for Echolink. I use it with a laptop and the Echolink software. I receive consistently good audio reports from hams worldwide. Make sure you are using the proper soundcard/Echolink settings with this microphone.

Works fine for personal use. Plug and play with laptop computers. Other side can hear and understand conversation just fine (tested via Skype conversation). Would purchase again.

If you just need something quick and dirty to voice chat with or to record a tutorial/lecture, this mic will do you just fine. My primary issue with the mic is the amount of background noise and odd static that pervades any raw recording. I'm attributing it to either a lack of noise reduction or maybe my soundcard, so keep that in mind. Either way, if you're not particularly picky about what those on the receiving end hear, then this is your mic. I mean it's cheap, so.

I record audio for PPTs a lot, and this mic does not really do the job there. The volume is always too low and not great quality. But, it works OK for internet calls if the other person turns their volume way up. Great price, which is why the quality cannot be great I think.

Bottom line: OK for a basic mic, not great for projects which require higher quality audio.

Microphone = 5 stars, stand = 1 star. If fact, you might just chuck the stand. I ended up sticking the microphone into a pen holder ha! With the microphone on the stand, it tends to become top heavy and will flop over at the slightest breeze.

Great quality microphone. I had a great set of heaphones which didn't have an attached microphone, got this instead of a new headset. Conversation partners on Skype tell me that this sounds clearer than other audio inputs I've used.
The tripod stand collapses, saving a lot of deskspace when it's not being used. When set up, it's at just the right height.
