After going through several cheap no-name made-in-China full-size glue guns, I picked up this hopefully better made-in-China DeWalt. It is indeed the fastest-heating glue gun I've used, and I particularly like using it with the Arrow BSS6-4 slow-set glue sticks that I can find only here on Amazon--which give you more time to position the work-pieces. The grip is comfortable and the trigger squeezes smoothly and disperses the glue evenly. It has a lifetime warranty--though it's a "if we find a manufacturing defect" type of deal. Still, with Dewalt putting their name on this tool, I have a feeling it will last longer than the cheap, no-name ones. However, it loses a star for not having a power-on light, which even the aforementioned no-name glue gun had (before it started spewing glue from every crack in its case). It would be trivially cheap to add such a light to a tool like this, and I'm surprised that a premium tool-maker like DeWalt entering this space forgot, didn't think it was important, or tried to shave off a few pennies by consciously eliminating it. I will not knock off another star for lack of built-in power-off timer--Because no one's got that yet, and I do my own version with a simple plug-in shut-off timer I always use with this tool, since there's no power light and it would be easy to leave it on by accident. So--pretty good job, Dewalt, but you can do better.

My husband got me this because I wanted a glue gun that worked better than the cheap ones you buy at the craft store. Of course DeWalt did not disappoint! It heats up very hot and the glue comes out exactly where you want it. It is a lot more durable than the cheap ones. I have spent so much money on those ones when I probably could have just bought this one and saved a lot in the long run. This is one that will last a long time. It is very strong and works exactly like I wanted it to.
Perfect for crafts or fixing things that can be held with hot glue.

Reviewers who complained of this gun not advancing glue should be aware that getting hot glue into the rear feeding mechanism will prevent the roller inside the rear tube from coming up and advancing the glue stick. That happened to the refurbished gun I purchased here on amazon's marketplace because the previous owner had pulled a hot glue stick out the back causing melted glue to drip down into the feed mechanism. It was easy enough for me to fix by removing the melted glue.

I bought this dewalt glue gun to replace an exact duplicate I had purchased elsewhere and accidentally plugged into 220vac... I like the fact that this model heats up very quickly -- about twice to four times as fast as my other two glue guns.

The refurbished model I purchased on Amazon's market place did not work correctly when received: the previous owner had gotten glue into the feeding mechanism, causing the feeding mechanism not to work correctly. I had to dig out the melted glue. After the quick repair job, the gun worked perfectly -- heating glue sticks in just seconds.

Some pros compared to other brand/models of glue guns:
- This gun heats up very quickly, significantly faster than the other guns I've tried;
- Very lightweight compared to other "professional" guns I've used;
- Very reliable and smooth (feeding) mechanism compared to cheaper (sub-$20) models I've used and owned.

The only thing I would wish for in a glue gun: maybe a longer power cord. I have a battery operated glue gun that doesn't work very well on battery power, so I am hesitant to wish for a portable glue gun.

I followed the directions which are very straightforward. Plug in glue gun. Insert glue sticks. Two are needed for the first time. Wait two minutes for the glue gun to heat up. Pull trigger.

The gun is hot, and I can tell it's hot enough for the glue to be melted. Yet when I pull the trigger, nothing happens. I waited 15 minutes. Still nothing comes out when I pull the trigger. Returning tomorrow. So disappointing.

While it probably works well, it didn't come with any glue. I gave it as a present so he couldn't immediately use it.
After I bought it I found it for about 8$ less at a big box store and that one included glue sticks and two clamps.

Glue gun heats up fast, but has trouble feeding glue sticks.

I tried several different types and it would always slip when you pressed the trigger.
Its also got quite a fat body that doesn't allow it to get into tight spaces. The tip is also very large.

It worked well for about two sticks.

Originally I would not have rated this so high since I had the dreaded feed problem using the stanley 10" sticks. I then attempted a different brand of sticks and the issue was resolved. It seems finicky depending on sticks but once you get the right one it works flawlessly.

Bought at a big box store. Couldn't be happier. This heats fast ( >60 seconds). So it keeps a steady stream of glue. Other guns have a wait period to become effective again. But this one, HoHo, craft time all the time.
