Great toy - hours of fun for the grandkids. My just turned 4 year old grandson is a huge Jake and the Neverland Pirates fan. He received these walkie-talkies as a gift for his birthday and he and his 9 year old brother have been having fun with them ever since. There was a small learning curve for the 4 year old to get the concept of holding the button down to talk, but that passed quickly. Also, these come without batteries, so ensure you pick some up or have some on hand - 8 AAAs for the set.

My 5 year old nephew loved this. Just one little hitch- the body is wide making it hard for a 5 yr old to use with just one hand. The button you press to talk is on the side and is kind of hard for him to squeeze. Good reception and cute design. Overall very satisfied.

Awesome walkie talkies for kids. I bought for my sons, but they are not quite old enough to figure out how to use them yet. They still love yelling into them from the other room. Easy to work, fun to use..work great.

These walkie-talkies are unsafe for children to use unsupervised! I gave this set to my kids on Christmas. They worked perfectly on Christmas day and my children loved them. The next day my kids wanted to play with these again so they turned them on and continued their games from the day before. A few moments later I walked into the room and was shocked to discover my kids speaking with an absolute stranger! **THESE ARE NOT PRIVATE LINES. ANYONE CAN SPEAK TO YOUR KIDS AND LISTEN TO THEIR CONVERSATIONS**. I turned off both devices and then flipped them on again. Same problem. A complete stranger responding my kids. I have no idea who it was on the line. It was not someone from our immediate neighborhood. I only purchased this set because the description made it sound like they were safe. They are not. Allowing children to use these is no different than allowing them to speak with strangers off the internet. In my opinion these walkie-talkies are very dangerous for children. I threw both of these in the garbage can.

These walkie talkies are a great purchase! We've had these for 4 months now. The battery life is great, the range is even greater, and we haven't had any negative interference or static. After reading all the negative reviews, I was hesitant to buy but I shouldn't have been. These are perfect! My 3 year old does have to use both hands to talk because the walkie talkie is pretty wide. That's the only negative, and I'm not really sure it's a negative. These are awesome!

My grand daughter loves these pirate radios and they seem well made but she just turned 4 and has trouble understanding that one has to push the button to talk but release it to hear the other person. The operation confuses her and frustrates her. Possibly waiting a year would have been better.
