I used to use my Girlfriend's Hair tie on my guitar it works pretty well but then we broke up and she took it back and burned my guitar . I have a new guitar and i love these Its very Quick and easy to adjust as well. Very Much Worth it.

I bought these to deaden the sound of the strings behind the nut, a sound that became noticable on two of my guitars when playing high gain, palm muted riffs.

I contacted Gruv Gear, asking if the wraps would work behind the nut as well as they work in their 'normal' application on the fretboard (where they deaden the 'speaking' portion of the strings). They emailed back immediately, telling me that the wraps work for both applications.

So, I ordered, received, installed, and couldn't be happier. I place the wrap just behind the nut. The material of the wrap, and pressure on the strings, successfully mutes the unwanted behind-the-nut sounds.

If you play high gain muted riffs, and notice strange harmonics and junk happening even when you've deadened the strings with your hands, you may be suffering from behind-the-nut junk. Give Fret Wraps a try. Great product!

p.s. The Large Fret Wrap works just fine on my seven string guitars.

Worked as advertised.. but be careful on putting on this on your expensive guitar or a guitar you want to keep unblemished.

The hard plastic fastener made a small 'dent/ding' on the headstock of my Tom Anderson Drop Top. I think this should have been made of a more 'softer' material in order to avoid damages to an instrument.

Needless to say, this annoyed me.

It's a simple concept, better than a "scrunchie" but two design issues mute pad is a bit wide for when the scale take you "off the top" to open strings and inteferes with fingerings on open chords and the rectangular "D- ring for the tension/velcro strap "rolls" to the long side loosing tension settings. Not insurmountable just if I were CEO of Gruv Gear and did a version two I would make it slightly narrower and change the "D" rings shape to I dunno an actual "D:" ring... would buy again... and recommend.

I play a 5 string Sadowsky Bass and ordered the medium size. Perfect size and mutes the open strings while playing around the neck but still allows the open strings to ring through when played.

I use these to stop vibrations on my headstock behind the nut, closest to the tuners. I play in the studio on occasion and play most often in sound treated, large scale church venues. In both of these situations vibrations behind the nut are actually picked up and audible. I am a bass player

I bought these fret wraps to solve that ringing issue, and they have and continue to serve that purpose very well!

I found these a little bit annoying during rehearsal, but I will most certainly be using them for studio recordings of any parts that don't use the first fret. The dampening isn't totally consistent, but it works significantly better than any of my home "designs".

The Gruv Gear FretWraps HD are the best string dampeners in the market. Nothing like them. Not even close! Great for recording and live performances as well, especially if you are a 'tapping' or 'speed-scale' lover. These FretWraps effectively eliminate excessive string ring (when unwanted) providing great and pure sound - Recording with these are a must. I think they actually enhance the sound of your instrument specifically while recording. Just be careful on the size you purchase, as it depends on the instrument you have, number of strings and neck width. As a couple of examples, I use 'Small' on my 2013 PRS Custom 24. On an 8-string 'Ibanez' M80M guitar, it's better to use 'Medium. It's a great product. Highly recommended. Rock on! Cheers.
