I knew that I was getting a cheap set, and didn't have high expectations. I will say, it didn't meet my low expectations. The racquets have plastic handles, and after playing with them for 10 minutes, my hands felt as if they were getting roughed up. The poles for the net come in three pieces. It doesn't tell you how far to put the 1st pole in the ground, so i pushed it down 6 inches or so and it messed up the bottom of the pole. I did get the net put up and played a few games. This set is more of a one time use set, as it breaks easily. I ended up scraping it, all except the net, and made my own poles with PVC pipe by following these directions: http://www.instructables.com/id/Wireless-PVC-badminton-volleyball-net/ Total cost for the pvc poles was about $11 plus about one hour of work.

I bought this for casual games in the park, and it worked great. It's very portable, and easy enough to put up and take down quickly. The net is definitely flimsy, and took a few tries to set up, but it worked eventually. I recommend it, just as long as you know that it's cheap. Both birdies ripped the first day I used it, but the racquets are good quality.

This set is better then I would have expected. I bought it for my husband and I to use on the weekends. We play with our families and friends of all ages. It's perfect.
RACKETS: The rackets are wonderful, quality made, well-strung and bouncy when the shuttlecock hits them. You couldn't buy better rackets if you tried.
NET: The net is good for playing casual games outside in the yard. It sets up easy and is HUGE. I didn't expect the net to be so long! Can't complain with the quality, it's just what I was looking for.
BIRDIES: The shuttlecocks are the only thing you could complain about. It comes with two cheap ones, but they're usable. I would recommend buying a set of nicer birdies to go along with this amazing net and racket set.
Wonderful set that came at a great price! ^w^ I would recommend to anyone of any age.

This is a nice set for kids only due to the height of the net. I expected it to be a little taller than it was. The poles raise the net to maybe about 4ft. So its perfect for young children, but is not challenging enough for adults or teens. The net will tear easy as well and the stakes do not hold in the ground very well. The birdies and rackets are pretty nice though and held up to the beatings the young kids gave them. Overall im happy with this purchase just disappointed in the height.

We have used it twice now. During the second use the plastic piece that holds the ropes on the side broke. We are still able to use the net but I am not sure how long.

We bought this to replace an old set on which the net basically crumbled after many summers. It was cheaper to buy this set as a lightning deal than a replacement net. I have tweens/teens who play casually and aren't rough on gear. One of the two poles ended up snapping the first week. In the end, I harvested the net for my old poles. This was very easy to set up but not worth the money.

This is the perfect backyard badminton set. It's great for the casual user, and my kids and I love it!
I was worried after reading several reviews about quality, but then realized that I really didn't have much to lose if it wasn't all the great, so I went for it.
My set has been perfect. Set up is quick and easy, yay, tho it does require two people. (But when is one ever playing badminton solo?)
The rackets are excellent quality, and the entire thing comes in a great carrying bag so it's easy to bring to the park or beach.
While it only comes with two birdies, I picked up an extra set of 6, and they also fit into the carrying bag. (Well, inside the bag is a box, and the box perfectly fits in the bag, so I've been trying to keep that together, not for any particular reason, but just because it's sturdy feeling that way.)
Even if it was more expensive, I have nothing but love for this set!!

The red plastic poles bend easily.
The rackets that came with the set are shorter than regular rackets. Their black handles came off after a week of play. The string tension is very light. Because of this, I have broken 2 of them.
The shuttlecocks/birdies that came with the set are very delicate. I have broken all of them.

I am an aggressive player that smashes when the opportunity arises. I thought that I could use this to allow my family to get into the game but instead we have broken the whole set basically. Instead, I spent about $20 on a 2-racket set made by Yonex at Sport's Authority, ~$13 on 6 Yonex birdies (very good quality), and $20 on a net that we put up at a local 24 Hour Fitness.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! No disrespect to Franklin Sports, but the only people I see having fun with this game without breaking it are people who only play light.
