The design could be better, but it does what I wanted it to do. My only major complaint is that when I open the lid more often than not the whole top comes off (like if you were going to replace the bag). It's also kind of hard to close it correctly after opening the big part of the body and cutting/tying the bag off. I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend it-I definitely would. I keep this little guy downstairs and the big one up by the changing table. It keeps the smell away and is more convenient than taking him upstairs all the time.

I love the convenience of the full size diaper genie! However I saw this item and it had great reviews. So I though wow this would be good to have as a second genie in the bathroom for my son who is potty training. Well I have to say I am incredibly disappointed. I was not expecting a foot pedal to make it hands free but at least being able to open it using two hands would be nice. I struggle to open this every time I use it. i though maybe after being used for a bit it would loosen up, but as of yet that has not happened. Most of the time the entire lid pops off instead of the flap opening. I would have been better off with a full size genie.

I was looking for just a smaller version of the Diaper Genie Elite to use in the bathroom, with the foot press and diaper chute. I guess I should have read the specs better. This cannot be used with one hand; you can't even hold the diaper in one hand and open it with the other. I often needed two hands to pry the lid open. Then when I put the diaper inside, I had to manually push the chute down to get it in the pail. I can't believe I spent this much money on it. I will be returning ASAP.
