Wow, we had a lot of fun with this cookie press. Over the recent holidays, the kids and I made the butter cookie dough, and proceeded to make cookies using each of the disks that came with the press.

Set-up: The dough itself was easy to make, and the press was very easy to load.

Operation: The press worked very well, squirting out the dough in its proper shapes. With time, a small amount of dough got past the plunger, and when reloading the press, I opened up the top, and removed it.

Clean-up: I must admit that I did not trust this thing in my dishwasher, so I took it completely apart, and washed it by hand. My only problem was at the top of the cylinder, where some errant dough got squeezed into some crevices. The dough was not easy to remove, so I used a baby bottle brush to clean it out. That didn't thrill me.

Conclusion: Though this press is not perfect, the kids and I had a great time using it, and we will definitely use it again.

Oh, and by the way, we found if you take the butter cookie and make sandwich cookies using chocolate frosting, it makes simply heavenly sandwich cookies! Give it a try!
