The hydro rug is a great bath and shower rug. We use it in our shower and if stays secure and doesn't slip. It feels wonderful to your feet and keeps them smooth. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than five is that it catches some hair and that bothers me, but it is pretty easy to rinse off. I will keep buying these for our shower.

This is a mat for the shower....as you obviously know by viewing it.

I purchased this because after a motorcycle accident my foot hurts BADLY on hard floors, and my once loved long showers were too painful. I needed some padding in order to stand in the shower for even a short amount of time. This looked to fit the bill, and it sort of does. I get more padding, but it does not accomplish what I wanted. I still take short showers because of the pain, but now I am not rushing to clean up, having enough time to actually get clean. So that much is good.

The mat does NOT stay put however, the suction cups that are on it are useless. Not a single one grabs the floor of the shower. It does not freely slide around, so I am not worried about slipping, but it does migrate around the bottom of the shower a little bit.

The mat is NOT comfortable. It is in fact irritating to the bottom of the feet, feeling like you are standing on little rocks or twigs. Not painful but not comfortable. There is however enough cushion to ease the pressure of the feet, so aches and pains due to the injury are eased a little.

The mat does drain water efficiently, and does not seem to retain much. Mold or mildew will not be an issue in most houses, especially if you shower with soap regularly (uh...duh).

The mat held it's rolled shape for a few showers, make them hot showers and it will flatten faster. But it does flatten out decently well.

The mat DOES NOT allow hair to drain through. Simple enough, just clean it out right? Wrong....the weave and structure of the mat makes hair stick to it like Velcro. I bought this thinking it was one of those soft pads. At first I was disappointed, until I used it. It's still gentle on my feet, but not as soft as the squishy foam ones. But it dries out well between showers where the soft ones didn't. And it seems like it will last a very long time. It stays in place very well and the anchors are on the edges of the rug so you don't step on them. My only suggestion would be that they make a longer one for tubs. This one is short and isn't that great for taking a bath. I will buy this again.

Love the texture on the feet.
Been using it for a few months now, and it's still relatively clean. No problem with hair sticking to it (as mentioned in some reviews I read prior to purchase). It does move around on the tub a little bit... not as sticky as it could be... but once you step on it, it stays in place well enough. Much less slick than a soapy tub without a mat, for sure!
