Adjustable Settings

The laser is projected by the adjustable pointer, which can be positioned at any vertical angle for your desired level of distance.

The laser line can be mounted on any side of the dartboard to best suit your gameroom.

When the laser is set at the desired distance, you can tighten the two bolts on each side of the pointer to lock the beam into place. This prevents your throw line from moving when impact occurs.

This product is awesome! I opted to mount it to the bottom of my wood dart cabinet with Velcro that I found on Amazon for $3.00. So I avoided putting more holes in the wall and was able to connect the laser oche to the cabinet without drilling anything. The laser is great, even in a well lit room. My set up is next to large windows on the second floor of the house in the game room, and even with the blinds open I can still see the laser oche. You will need to fidget with the measurement of the line a bit to get it just right (there is a ball joint hinge that the laser rests in, and a slight movement can throw the line off a few inches by moving it even a few centimeters when setting it up). This is not a negative by any means just a heads up. The value of this product for the price point is a no brainer to me. Keep your wife happy by not messing up the floor and make your dart set up complete at the same time!
I included the picture of the Velcro I found simply to make it easy for anyone interested in the same to find.

OK, this thing is absolutely brilliant. My dartboard is in the carpeted office. To set an oche, (throwline), I'd have to invest in a rubber dartmat which I didn't particularly want. My office is bright with halogen lights and 2 large windows allowing lots of natural light. All that light does not make the red line difficult to see. It's crystal clear. The batteries just keep going. I thought I'd have had to change them well before now.
Now it seems that the one I received is slightly different to the one shown in the image here. Changed for the better I hasten to add. A couple of reviewers noted that the laser is easy to knock requiring you to get out the tape measure and reset the line to the correct distance. The one I received has 2 locking screws either side of the moveable laser so it can be locked into position once you have it set. If you play a lot then it is possible to get a 5V power adapter eliminating the need for batteries, but I'd let a set of 4 AAs wear out before you invest in that to see if you're OK with the amount of time it takes to burn them up.

Laser is easily moved so you need to be careful not to touch it, but once set it works great. If you are like me, and have your board set up in a location that doesn't allow a proper throw line, this is an awesome solution. Highly recommend it.

My dartboard is mounted in an area that has carpet, rather placing something on the carpet (and facing the wrath of my wife) I chose to get the Viper Laser Dart Throw Line Marker. The pictures all show it mounted to the wall, but it is easily mounted under the dartboard cabinet, if you have one. The line is a faint but visible when the room is brightly lit but since I have lights shining on my dart board I like the barroom effect I get by having the other lights turned down low or off, then the laser line really stands out. One concern I had about mounting it to the cabinet was the possibility of vibrations causing the line to move, but that has not been a problem at all, the line has not moved at all and I have thrown at least 1,000 darts at the boards since installing the Laser Dart Throw Line Marker.

The instructions for setting the line that came with the laser are very good, and make lots of sense.

We needed a solution for my parents' new Viper dartboard as we've always had a hard time gauging the throwing line and marking the new wood floors with a floor line was out of the question. Enter Viper's laser line marker. This great item sits cleanly beneath the board and once calibrated, measured and tightened gives a clear line on the floor that can be seen even with strong overhead lights. One fairly major qualm, though: The laser line uses twice as many batteries as the dartboard itself. One way to combat this, however, is to attach an appropriate-voltage AC adapter (not included). For those desiring a clean, cordless look with their dartboard and throw-line marker, however, this gets the job done.

The product is great, but the quality control department is lacking a little. I mounted my Viper and set it up for the correct distance on the floor. When I went to tighten the screws to hold the laser in place, the laser went out. Upon further inspection, I noticed the red wire coming out from the laser was cut by the screw that tightens because it was taped right behind the screw! I was able to remove the wire and replace it with a PCB jumper and re-wire it to the battery, but I shouldn't have to go through all of that for a simple wiring mistake. Oddly, there was tape in the device to hold the wires down, but it was taped right to the back of the screw. Unit works great now with the new wiring. The pictures show how it came taped, how the wires looked when broken, and how it all looked when I replaced with a jumper.
