I have purchased the oxo salad spinner with storage lid and would not be without it. It really simplifies the washing of your greens. The lettuce keeps in good condition for several days because of how dry it is. The storage lid is a nice bonus as I can wash and store greens in the same container without having to use the spinning lid. If there is any moisture left it keeps the greens above it.
I use it for spinning dry other vegetables and fruits after washing them,(broccoli, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries etc.)as everything keeps longer when it's dry. I also use the container to store watermelon, not to spin it, but it keeps cut watermelon above the juice that naturally forms and it will stay fresh longer. I love it!

I recently purchased the salad spinner to replace an old salad spinner that I have had for many years. The storage lid is a nice addition and the bowl can be used to serve the salad - it is quite large so good for serving a large group. The base of the bowl has a non-skid silicone ring to hold the bowl in place while spinning. The break is helpful to stop the spinning action. For storage the pop up pump can be lowered and locked into place.

I had one from Wally World that had a string you pull to make it rotate. The string wore out really fast and couldn't be fixed. So I saw something on TV one day with the plunger type mechanism that this spinner has, and I thought that might be better. I ordered one, and am very happy so far with it. I can keep fresh lettuce in the fridge all ready to go for my salads now. I like the extra storage lid, too. Just exactly what I was looking for.

I love my salad spinner! I have used it for several years now and it is still going strong. The only "problem" I have had with it is that the inner basket has become slightly stained--no biggie, as mine still works like new. I have always been pleased with the many OXO products that I have purchased. They appear to last a lifetime!

It does get my greens dry enough that I can store them for a week in tupperwares in the fridge. Easy cleanup as I just rinse it. I probably wouldn't ever put it in the dishwasher. I would be afraid that the inner basket would warp and never spin perfectly again. It is rather large, even with the button locked in, so you will need a bit of room in your kitchen cabinet.
