The best Cooler on the market. This is a beast. The heaviest, biggest, best......just look at the specs.

EDIT: 20140930

OK so I got this thing installed and wanted to point out a few things. First off I had a bent bracket right out of the box and EVGA tech support helped out with that and probably has the best tech support and customer service out of any of the big companies...period. So got that ironed out and completed the install pretty simple except for 'torque' callouts. The way this thing is designed, at least for intel 2011-v3, the two screws that hold the crossbeam, the dimpled piece that goes across the heatsink, to the two brackets that are screwed onto the mobo via the standoffs/jackscrews, do not tighten flush. They are designed to preload the crossbeam, inturn compressing the heatsink onto the top of processor, but 'how much to tighten them is left up to the installer'. One could very easily over torque and break something, seriously. By the time you put the grease on and mash everything down and start torquing the screws and know for sure that the heatsink is as close to the processor as humanly possible is only a few turns of the screws away from damaging the mobo. Also, remember to alternate back and forth, from one screw to the other, during the process. Frankly, once I could tell things were tightening up, i started wiggling the heatsink a bit to test the movement, I then torque the screws 1/4 turn at a time and repeated the wiggling and kept that process until I could not longer wiggle the heatsink. But with the grease and 'how much wiggle it too much wiggle or the right wiggle' is all relative from user to user. Plus not to mention, how do you tell if one side doesn't have more compression than the other?

This cooler is fantastic. My Corsair H100i broke and I couldn't afford a new one so I had to go with air. I was hesitant to get this one since there wasn't many reviews, any really, but I am glad I did. I have this installed on an ASUS Maximus V Extreme and Core i72600k oc'd to 4.4Ghz @ 1.325v. After a few hours of gaming, the temps did not go any higher than 58 Celsius. Not bad for the price. The build quality is very solid and the red light on the fan is not too bright, but bright enough to add some needed style. The fan is a little loud at full RPM, but still quieter than an AIO Liquid system. The mounting system is pretty good as well. It's not the best, but I have definitely seen worse on more expensive products. If you want a great cooler for a good price, that will also add some style to your case, granted you have a side window, you will not regret buying this. The only con I have is that the fan pretty much sits on one of the memory sticks because I have all 4 slots filled with Gskill Ripjaws, but the cooler still fits, and it works like a champ. People with low profile or normal size memory should not have any problems. I would probably say this is the best cooler for the price right now, and it's made by EVGA, a company who has a fantastic reputation for quality products and support.

For this price, you're better off getting a radiator with an option to apply 2 fans (for push/pull). This took off maybe 7-degrees Celsius off my i5 4690K on light overclocking. But if you're going to do medium to extreme overclocking, you're better off getting a bigger radiator or one with a push/pull configuration (if you have the room for it in your setup). The installation was quite tricky where you were doing some balancing act with the radiator and this metal piece to align with the frame. Overall, it was a hassle and I wish I could return it but I can't because the plastic frame that came with it snapped off (yes, the back frame portion is plastic). At this price, you can get a better air cooler and more efficient.

After receiving my unit over a week ago, it had some essential components missing for the installation process. After working it out with EVGA (Fantastic customer support, by the way) I finally got my parts today and have this thing operational in my computer. So, I thought I'd share my initial thoughts and experiences with this product...

1. Assembly: Now, you can install/assemble this thing with the motherboard still in the case. I actually did it this way, and it was a bit tricky...I had a few "WTF moments." But overall, it wasn't too bad-- if you've managed to build your own computer from stock parts, this shouldn't be too difficult. And I imagine it would be substantially easier to install with the motherboard out of the case.

2. Appearance/Aesthetics: This CPU cooler looks good; that's one thing I like about EVGA, they always make sure their products look really nice. I was originally going to purchase a Coolermaster CPU cooler, but when I saw how nice this EVGA cooler looked, I had to get it. The red LED lighting on the fan is more prominent than I expected it to be, it looks great in my windowed case.

3. Noise and Performance: You'll probably want to get some software or whatever to control the fan speeds. Initially, after installation...this thing was running at 100% and it was -very- loud. But once you lower the fan speeds a bit, it's not too bad. I have this thing cooling an Intel I7 3770 processor. Obviously, this is much better than my old Intel stock cooler. Even with the fan speed adjusted to never go above 70%, my CPU never got above 68° under load. And I was playing some pretty CPU-intensive games on maximum settings...like Rome 2: Total War.

This is actually the first CPU cooler I've used besides the standard Intel one.
