This is okay as a stand-alone shoe rack. But, compared to the 3-tiered Seville it is flimsier and a tad smaller. This means you CANNOT combine the 2-tiered and 3-tiered racks - which was a major disappointment. I've made it work by lashing the two together which is not optimal. I was very satisfied with the 3-tiered rack and would recommend that one over the 2-tiered rack. It is sturdier, easier to put together and offers much more space. (I would have ordered two 3-tiered racks but did not have the height room, thus the mistaken idea that I could combine a 2-tier and 3-tier.)

I'm pretty mad about the condition in which this arrived. As some of the other one-star reviewers experienced, the plastic was warped so badly that this didn't fit together at all. It looks nice; I wish I could give this five stars, but since it was so non-functional I had to return it, I can only give it one.

I needed a new shoe rack for my ever expanding shoe horde. When this popped up, I decided to try it. First of all, it was very easy to assemble right out of the box, and all by myself. No tools necessary. It's a sleek, lightweight metal in a simple brown color that is very sturdy. My one minor quibble (and why I deduct half a star) is that the second shelf is a bit too short to fit high heeled shoes on - sneakers and flats fit fine though. This rack works so well I immediately ordered a second one! They stack very well and I am considering additional shelves for my pantry. They're versatile and can be linked horizontally or vertically, making them a good option for unusual space shapes.

Overall, this is a great shoe rack/versatile shelf. It's reasonably priced at about $20, but I think the current option which has a nearly $10 shipping fee on top of that is too much. I recommend waiting to see if Amazon gets them in stock for Prime/super saver shipping. Highly recommended.

Having grown up on a dairy farm in my youth, I'm used to the NO SHOES INSIDE policy that my Grandmother instituted. No farm wife needed/wanted grit, mud, MANURE, or bits of hay on their clean scrubbed floor!

Now, decades later and working in construction for a living, I know just how much of the above junk gets tracked into your home on a daily basis. Couple that with the salt that stains wood floors that's applied to sidewalks in the Northern United States and it should be a No Brainer just "WHY" shoes should be removed inside of a home.

Blessed with a breezeway at our front door and a mud room at the back, I was lucky enough to have a mat that collected shoes at each entry. However, prior to trying out this two-tier shoe rack, our shoes were a jumbled mess of shoes covering shoes, ruining the ones beneath it. Add to that mess was the embarrassment of having friends take their shoes off before entering our home and having to declutter the area prior to their arrival.

Not a problem any longer! This lovely shoe rack is not only exceedingly affordable but strong, a very small footprint and looks far more expensive than it sells for. We loaded this puppy up with all of our normal shoes and snow boots on top: it didn't rock, wiggle or budge! I've owned shoe racks before but they were either too narrow and shoes that were top heavy or extra long (like my son's size 13 sneakers) would flip off. Other shoe racks I owned were bi-level, tipping the shoes forward but sandals would slide off of it. This rack has enough room for short boots to use the bottom, extra long shoes to stay put, and a very sturdy top shelf to hold heavy snow boots. Once it's put together, it's actually a decent rack. I wear a size 10 and 3 pairs of shoes fit across each tier - albeit rather snugly. For example, on the top shelf I have two pairs of running shoes and one pair of hiking boots, and I have to have the middle pair facing the opposite direction in order for all 3 pairs to fit.

The design of this thing is it's biggest weakiness. The shelves hook into the legs, and there's nothing actually securing them in other than the way they pull the sides in. If you bump the top shelf while taking a pair from the lower one, it will pop right up and out of the slots for the "legs" of the individual shelves, and the whole unit will collapse in on itself.

If this is just for a closet or somewhere that it won't be moved very often I'd say it's fine. That said - if you have to pick this thing up at all, you HAVE to pick it up by the handles on the sides - if you grab it by the shelves, you'll pull the shelf right out of the legs and it will fall apart. Because of that, as others have said, it can be a bit on the irritating side to put together even though it's so simple.

Not a bad overall unit but a pretty lousy design. I'm going to try some trickery with zip ties to keep the shelves from popping out and see how it goes. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Just set up two of these stacked up into a four-tier shelf, took less than five minutes to unpack and set them both up. They look exactly as pictured, a very dark brown, almost black, almost wood-plank look. Very clean lines, classic, would fit with a lot of décor styles. I was worried based on the reviews that they would be pretty flimsy, but they are NOT. When you place the shelves, it seems like they are in, but you have to push down extra hard and they click in even further, which really strengthens up the unit. I purchased this one rather than a similar 3-tier one also made by Seville Classics because I had the room under my coats for a fourth shelf - my husband and I are pretty tall so I hung our closet bar higher than normal. I could fit this under all my regular and 3/4 length coats and jackets. We are Dutch so taking off our shoes when we enter the mudroom is standard procedure. Unfortunately, as our family grew, not all of us could fit our coats and shoes in our adorable wood locker wall. I was tired of tripping on my own shoes so have retrofitted our mudroom/laundry storage closet for adult coats and my shoes and our toddler's shoes. What I love about this set up is I can still fit a whole row of shoes under the unit on the floor, plus rubber boots in front of the rack and thecloset doors will still shut. This unit will be easy to clean and YES is sturdy enough to slide over, fully loaded with shoes, when I have to sweep or mop. Made in China, distributed by a USA company in CA.
