I did not buy the base unit from Amazon, I bought it in a local store. This model number is very new, perhaps October 2013. It certainly has all the bells and whistles. There is a terrible problem with hearing people on the other side of the phone. They do NOT
sound sharp and clear. I must have spent 3 to 4 hours on the phone with both Panasonic and ATT. I finally got to a supervisor from Panasonic in Virginia who tested the unit from "Her" side and came back to me admitting that there is an issue with the unit itself. Not just mine, but others. As a matter of fact if you look on the reviews on Amazon you will find the same complain from another person, perhaps more than one.
Therefore, I am sorry to say I had to return the entire system. I regret having to do this. I was so looking forward to enjoying a new telephone. I had to reinstall my old Panasonic and will have to research something else. Thank you for asking, Anne

We have just upped our telephone game. We moved from a prior Panasonic model to these, and the change was well worth it. Reasonably priced two-line phone with cell phone calling too. You can't go wrong. And the calls are clear as a (Alexander Graham) bell.
