I wouldn't have bought one of these before lithium ion batteries got so good, but this saw works great. It hasn't the power of a mag worm drive, but it will cut gnarly old 2" x 8" joists like nothing with a sharp blade. It's light and saves a ton of time for me. Pair it with the new red lithium 4.0 Ah battery and get full power. Love it.

Amazing saw! I'm a carpenter and contractor. Basically all of their fuel tools put others to shame on the job site. I'm going out of my way to show my appreciation to Milwaukee for improving on what was already a good cordless circular saw. It feels great, it has a rafter hook and light, all markings are clear, plenty of power, if you think it's heavy grab a corded worm drive and take it up in the rafters. They also make a 7 1/4 saw now if you do more finish work or need a bigger saw. The 7 1/4's blade is on the opposite side, making me gravitate to the 6 1/2. Got a question just ask. Also Milwaukee has a large selection of tools making it a good brand to commit to.

had the regular m18 version 2630 it was reliable but a little slow at 3500 rpm. so thought i would upgrade to the 5000 rpm fuel. almost immediately a bad grinding noise happened and oil came out. sent it back and milwaukee fixed it for free they said it was stripped gears. how could this happen on a new tool. this appears to be an anomaly as nobody else is reporting this problem? going good now and definitely cuts faster than the 2630, and a bit lighter too. if you had this problem please respond thanks.

Great saw, easy to keep straight lines, easy to see cut line, light weight, great power, long lasting. With the 4 amp battery, you can cut a lot. This picture speaks for itself. It was taken after cutting through solid oak for a half-lap joint. Each cut is 2 inches deep and 12 inches across. These cuts were continuously made using a fully charged 4 amp battery until it was completely drained. It's just shy of cutting 24 feet. Not bad IMHO.
