This stuff is a absolute necessity, If you're new to owning fish or If you just want to set up a brand new tank. You need this Beneficial Bacteria to start up the Nitrogen Cycle in your tank and this is the best way to get it. For those who's new to owning fish or who doesn't know what the nitrogen cycle is and why it is important to your fish to keep them healthy, Im going to explain the easy way. Basically What the Nitrogen Cycle is and why is it important to your fish is because the Nitrogen Cycle is the process of GOOD BACTERICA that is introduced into your tank to help lower the Ammonia, Phosphates, Nitrate Levels that builds naturally from your fish, Un eaten food, and its Poop. Ammonia is the LEADING CAUSE OF FISH Death is given out naturally through your fish's Gills or its POOP, or uneaten food. now back to the Nitrogen CYCLE, which is very easy to understand if explained easliy with out all its technical mumbo jumbo.its basically the introduction of the GOOD bacteria into your tank, now your Ammonia, Nitrate, and Phosphate levels will go up, but don't worry its Suppose to do that, so don't go crazy doing water changes or adding chemicals to lower these levels no. The Beneficial Bacteria will do that for you in that case will provide a healthy Environment for your fish because the bacteria will eat up all the bad stuff your fish gives out. now your will have to monitor these Ammonia, Nitrate,Nitrate, and Phosphate levels with a test kit., and simply test everyday until you see the levels go all the way down to 0% once you see that all dropped all the way down then your tank has successfully gone through the Nitrogen Cycle and only then it is safe to start introducing fish into your new tank, as this procedure (Nitrogen Cycle) is only needed if you are setting up a brand new tank that is fresh out the box(if ordered online) or fresh out the pet store.

I had my 10 gal up and running for 3-4 weeks and I was dosing ammonia up to 4ppm daily which was converted into nitrites within a few hours... Nitrites however spiked and stayed that way for over a week until I added Fluval Bio Enhancer and within 24 hours the nitrites were converted into nitrates.. Everything seems to be going great. I can dose up the ammonia to 4ppm and within 24 hours everything is processed (ammonia-nitrites-nitrates).

This is a great produc but MAKE SURE YOU SHAKE THR BOTTLE 1st! The live bacteria settles to the bottom. This isn't a miracle bottle that cycles your tank in a day or two you still NEED to check your water to see if the cycle is complete. This bottle jump starts things by adding good bacteria which needs to grow on all of the surfaces. The growth still takes time. You know you're fully cycled when the good bacteria eats the added ammonia in 24hrs. If you pour this in and add fish straight away your stressing the fish because they are still riding through the cycle until the bacteria makes its home in your tank to eat ammonia and nitrite. If your fish made it, you're only lucky and this bottle only shortened the stress period. I recommend this product to speed things up, but do yourself a favor and buy the API master test kit as well so you're not swimming blind. :)

So I was tirelessly trying to cycle a 10 gallon tank for 2 weeks and I was stuck in the nitrate spike for a long time. Then today ammonia spiked so I was thinking my bacteria was failing for some reason. So I did a 120% water change using tap water dechlorinated with prime. Tested the water and I was at .5 ammonia ( that's expected our city has high cloramines.) 0 nitrate and 0 nitrite. I went out and bought fluval cycle came back and tested ammonia was still 5.0 with nitrate at 1.0 and nitrate at 0 weird numbers (something is not complete here.)added fluval just 10 ml since I have been cycling already and have a beta in it.

I'm happy to report that after 48 hrs fluval completed my cycle ammonia 0 No2 0 No3 .0.5

I have used this while establishing new tanks and I believe it is beneficial to the cycle. I have not done any scientific tests ;-) other than water tests for Ammonia, nitrite and nitrates and I think this helps by adding beneficial bacteria to help the tank along. I add some each time I have to clean a part in my canister filter or change out media since I loose some bacteria during that process.

Does the trick and works wonders, I always use this when setting up a new aquarium. While you can add fish immediately after dosing with this as it says, I would still wait at least overnight to give the bacteria a chance to get going. Don't forget to shake before each use because the bacteria cultures will settle to the bottom of the bottle.

I have a 60 gallon cichlid tank and this liquid bio enhancer improves the quality of the water and speeds up tank stability during water changes.
