I had a lot of fun with the DIGITAL TREASURES POWERBALL BLUETOOTH SPEAKER. I trust this video shows how well this product works. The voice you hear on the video is actual audio coming from the product being tested.

Some features:

+ Easy to set-up. I didn't even look at the instructions,and it worked first thing.
+ Includes charger cable
+ Easy to use volume control at rear of unit
+ Excellent bass response (typically a problem with smaller speakers)
+ Performed Bluetooth pairing immediately
+ Includes clever cover that fits on very tightly to protect the speaker
+ Bluetooth range was excellent--a pretty good distance, into another room
+ Includes carry lanyard

Cons: (very slight nit): Cover can be pretty tough to remove when installed.

All in all, an excellent product. One of the best Bluetooth speakers I have tested.

Uniquely designed geometric shaped speaker, was my first reaction upon viewing this speaker. The Lyrix Power Ball Bluetooth speaker is approximately the size of a baseball, with a glossy color finish.

The first thing to report is this Bluetooth speaker is only for amplifying your music. It does not connect to receive or answer phone calls. I need to make this clear since so many speakers have the capacity for telephone communication that I had almost taken for granted that all current speakers have this feature…the Lyrix Speaker does not. When a phone call comes through while the music is playing, the speaker goes silent, there is no indication that a call is interrupting and unless my phone is close to me to hear the ringtone, I had no idea that I had missed the call; I originally thought that the speaker was defective due to the misunderstood silence.

This power ball speaker comes packaged in a clear celluloid box, with a charging cable, lanyard, and clear instructions. Set-up is simple and the device name under the Bluetooth recognition is ‘Lyrix PowerBall’, therefore if there are several devices under your Bluetooth device as there are in mine, there is no guessing which Bluetooth device goes with this name. For me the attaching the lanyard was a challenge it needs threading down through one small hole and up through the other. I accomplished this task by using a bent pin to pull the piece from the second hole and then wrapped it around the rest of the lanyard. Actually, I was surprised how convenient the lanyard is for carrying the speaker; I usually have other things in my hands therefore the wrist lanyard is definitely useful.Read more ›

I love this thing! Its so loud but has clear sound and powerful bass for its size, but the only problem there is, is that the driver is exposed but i dont mind it. Just tell people not to touch that part. I also love that it has a cover for the driver. Overall this little speaker is amazing, cheap to. I definitely recommend this bluetooth speaker if your looking for one.

Sound on this little speaker is quite good: It has plenty of bass, as is usual for speakers of this type, because they are mostly designed for people who like a lot of bass . Usually something suffers when the bass is so pronounced; in this case it is the treble. I can really hear it in the cymbals--too bright, edgy and a bit brittle. Hence my four, and not five, star rating. If you are using it out in public, and/or multi-tasking, You will hardly notice it. So don't let my four star rating affect your decision if you are looking for a nice little speaker for light listening. (I listen hard, so I can't help but mention the treble.) Vocals come across very nicely. Sound is not muddy at all. Details come through well.

BT range is fantastic. The instruction manual claims 10 to 12 meters, but I got it to work through doors, windows and walls. I took it out to the garden--about 65 feet or almost 20 meters from my device sitting on my desk--before I lost my connection. That is unusual in a BT speaker this size and in this price range.

This speaker provides a big punch of sound. Volume can be turned way up before you start to lose good sound.

The design of this little speaker is a real show stopper. The colors just pop, and the shiny plastic has a bit of sparkle in the sun. It comes with a cap to protect the speaker, and I think that is a great feature. It also has a carry strap and a grab pad that holds firmly.. The buttons are easy to access and large enough so that you can actually hit the button you are aiming for. The buttons are clearly marked, too. The battery and BT indicator LEDs are bright and easy to see.

Be sure to check out the prices on the different colors. At the time I'm writing this review, there is one color where the price is way less than the others. So if color does not matter, be sure to look.

Totally surprised by this one... outstanding design with big sound and very good Bluetooth range, in such a little package.

The Digital Treasures Lyrix PowerBall Bluetooth Speaker is so small (about 3 inches in diameter) and easy to carry, maybe just about the size of your typical orange (not the big navel type, just a regular orange...), and we were surprised by how well it plays music. This is a very good little Bluetooth speaker with excellent range and surprising volume that can be carried anywhere. You can crank it up fairly loud without significant distortion, and it provides excellent bass, mid and decent treble. Simple, easy to use device that we highly recommended.

The housing pattern is unique, pleasing and makes this thing look outstanding. It came with a micro-USB cable that you can use to charge its battery; we plugged the USB end into our Samsung phone's wall adapter and the speaker (which came with some charge already) fully charged in about 90 minutes.

Pairing with our phones was quick and trouble-free, and we found the range to be good -- better than many other similar devices we have tested. Typically the phone paired with the speaker was within three to 12 feet of the speaker, with relatively good line of sight between the two devices. It also has a 3.5mm jack, allowing your to plug in your music source if that music source is not Bluetooth enabled (you will have to bring your own 3.5mm audio cable to the party).

It is a fun, cool looking little speaker that packs a punch! Tested with our Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC Droid DNA, this speaker sounded great right out of the box and responded quite well to the equalizers on those phones.Read more ›
