I used these as a perfect solution to avoid drilling into my staircase when I had to install a baby gate. I used these awesome zip ties to secure wood boards to the bottom of my steps - and I drilled the gate connectors into the boards. Works like a charm!

I just got these 36" x 175-lb Tach-It cable ties so can't comment on their durability but otherwise they seem to be well formed, flexible and tight holding.

Before my purchase I wondered what difference would make these ties 175-lb rated and the other Tach-It 36" ties (currently available 3/2014) 50-lb rated. The difference probably is the width; these ties are 11/32" wide and the weaker ones are 6/32". One can't tell that difference in the pictures and I didn't see the width mentioned for either.

My first use for 36" long ties would be holding insulation snug around HVAC duct. These wider ties have way more strength than needed for that, but they would dig into the insulation much less than the narrrower Tach-It ties when tightened.

I'm sure I'll find scores of other uses for these stronger ties. If they endure over time...hold well and don't get brittle & snap...I would bump my rating up to 5-Stars. At $9.70 for 50 (with free shipping) they were the right price.

I didn't see mention that these ties are UV resistant. If they hold up in sunlight, so much the better.

Very good, super strong zip ties. I'm rehabbing my 20+ yr old attic duct work and I've used them to reconnect all the flex duct (6, 8, 12, 14" dia) to misc. ceiling register boots and 'Y' connections work throughout the attic (after peeling off the useless dried out duct tape). I've even tied two zip ties together for the larger dia. ducts and they hold firmly. Used w/ the Wiss zip tie tool (w/ built-in cutter) you get a professional, tight fitting installation every time. Otherwise you just cannot tighten these big ties adequately by hand. I'd recommend these ties and will definitely order my 3rd pack to finish my rehab project.

I primarily use the 5" UV ties... They are perfect for hanging my "invisible dog fence " wire around the property on the field fence wire and for securing tomato cages to support stakes. Need UV ties to greatly reduce sun damage that shortens the life of the regular tie-straps.

We use hundreds of zip ties every week here in the office and we've purchased several times from this company. To date, we have absolutely no complaints. We have used a few other brands over the years and we find that there are usually a small percentage that fail to make that connection--you know, when you pull through and it doesn't quite hold firmly--but we have honestly not had any issues with these zip ties. We've ordered in a couple of different sizes and they work great. You could go to Home Depot and spend a little more than necessary on a small bag of zip ties or you could buy a lifetime supply here for so little! Hope that the review is helpful. They work! Go buy them! :)

They are very thin,delicate , flimsy off yellow color , so unless you need them for a simple project, not for tough,strong applications.didnt count them all,but look like 500 at best, and size is 7 and a half inches..rip off

These are great. I do wish I had purchased something longer. I am using them to bundle aluminum pipe, rebar, threaded rod, and metal tubing. They snug up tight and do not slip.

You might want to consider leaving the entire length intact: cutting these leaves a very sharp edge that
can easily slice into flesh.
