Based on reviews and the sized chart my family member ordered the XL (my dog barely fits a size Medium on the max extension in their Gooby Harness) and it was way too big. She was literally swimming in it.
Returned it for a size Large, Amazon screwed up the order and sent me a Medium and it was too small and tight! (I could tell my dog was uncomfortable in it) They finally sent me the correct size and it fit her just fine. It was quite wide in the front between the legs and tight up along the back. I see this has a hard sweater to figure out to see if it will fit your dog. The design was definably balanced right, I could pick her up from the rings and she would just hang their comfortable, even distribution along the chest.
She looked cute in it and was very comfortable wearing it while playing. The down side is that the leash rings on the back ripped off the harness after just a hour of playing (thank god I was hiking a trail and not near a street with cars). I'm disappointed because I have had such great success with their harnesses and they are so comfortable for her to play in. I had high hopes for this vest because it was a Gooby and the overall design makes more sense than most of the vest-harness I've seen for dogs.
If you have your heart set on this, I would recommend reenforcing the leash rings, (Extra ZigZag stitching and removing the decorative rivet and attaching a real one through the vest).

Item is does not look the same as in the picture. Log/Patches are different, and more importantly, the hook for the leash does not look like the sturdy one in the picture. In fact, We used the vest only twice and the hooks that the leash connects to are already fraying and therefore unsafe to use now for fear of the hooks ripping off completely and our dog getting loose. Terrible craftsmanship. I don't understand it because I have an older Gooby vest and it is much nicer and the hooks are very well attached and I used it for years. I wish I could return it!
